Not the usual 2 week wait!! Promotion board sat this week and I have to wait now for the signal to see if I am on it! Aargh going to be longest 2 weeks ever!! Will completely out myself with this thread for anyone in the know but just need to vent some frustration.
I know nothing I do now will change the outcome but I NEED TO KNOW NOW!!!!

Sorry just ignore my ranting!!!

Good luck! Smile

vintageteacups · 12/02/2011 12:43

Haven't got a clue what you're on about Grin but good luck Wink

MrsSnaplegs · 12/02/2011 13:21

vintage I find out in 2 weeks if I've been selected for promotion this year or not. 2ww is the acronym used by those ttc (trying to conceive) Grin obviously I'm not doing that again!!

scaryteacher · 12/02/2011 17:04

At least it's a promotion and not a redundancy board!

herdingcats · 12/02/2011 20:05

I echo what Scary said ,we're waiting to hear about redundancy. Much longer wait though 1st tranch is Sept. We'll have a lovely relaxing summer then Hmm
Good luck to you Smile

vintageteacups · 12/02/2011 23:18

Good luck MrsSnaplegs - hope your wait isn't too stressful Smile

MrsSnaplegs · 13/02/2011 00:04

I'm not even thinking about redundancy at the moment although I do know my branch is sort of ok because of what we do. If it comes up for me then obviously I will need to reasses but will wait for that to happen!!

Best of luck m'dear, if you become more senior than me I want you to understand that we shall never correspond. Ever.

Wink

Hope it all works out :)

MrsSnaplegs · 13/02/2011 10:03

OP posts:
WingDad · 13/02/2011 19:50

Half a stripe? Plt Off? Or am I in the wrong service altogether? :P

MrsSnaplegs · 13/02/2011 20:03

I'm dark blue Wink but it would be upto equivalent of Sqn Ldr

OP posts:
WingDad · 13/02/2011 20:06

I see, I see. Well I hope it all goes swimmingly (har-har, you see what I did there? Dark blue? Sea? Swimming? Grin) and you get the half-stripe. I'm sure you deserve it!

fivegomadindorset · 13/02/2011 20:06

No competition then. Grin

MrsSnaplegs · 13/02/2011 20:24

wingdad you funny man !! Of course I deserve it!

OP posts:
WingDad · 14/02/2011 03:52

That's the spirit! One day you must come over to one of our splendid messes to see how we do things on terra firma :P

Might have to ditch the dark blue uniform though, people would only stare and we certainly wouldn't want that.

Grin
MrsSnaplegs · 14/02/2011 07:35

Ah already initiated by light blue as I did 2 yrs at halton!
My job is very purple!

notyummy · 14/02/2011 15:41

Good luck! DH just had a similarish thing - rang up by desk officer to ask whether he wanted to be 'boarded' for command of a Sqn. Not really the one he wanted but felt beggars can't be choosers these days... (Not sure if the 'dark blues' have the same system or not.)

I have also just been for 2 job interviews and waiting for the results is always nervewracking.

MrsSnaplegs · 16/02/2011 09:12

No it's a different system for me - selection board once a year, promotion dependent on who/how your reports are written and if you are "in zone" for promotion. Also dependent on how many they need to promote for the year, they only need 3 this year for my branch. Not going to hold my breath but may be doing a rethink of life next week if I don't get it. 3 years until my 22 and 8 years left on this contract - might have to start thinking of an escape plan Grin

Testing

scaryteacher · 16/02/2011 11:32

My db is crossing everything for his brass hat this year. He has done all the major jobs in his branch and six months in a hot and sandy spot, and is now at Fleet. His reports are great, so he is wondering what else he needs to do.

MrsSnaplegs · 16/02/2011 16:21

Scary ooh best of luck to him! Are you Pompey based as well?

1 week and counting, I even bumped into my career manager earlier and he wasn't giving anything away Hmm it's going to be a long week Wine Wine Wine

OP posts:
scaryteacher · 16/02/2011 17:27

No, we are currently slumming it in Brussels (again - dh's 3rd consecutive appointment here), my brother is at Fleet.

MrsSnaplegs · 16/02/2011 19:39

scary sorry misread db as dh Grin too much Wine or Brew not sure which Grin

I do remember now you are "slumming it" in europe Grin
