Not the usual 2 week wait!! Promotion board sat this week and I have to wait now for the signal to see if I am on it! Aargh going to be longest 2 weeks ever!! Will completely out myself with this thread for anyone in the know but just need to vent some frustration.
I know nothing I do now will change the outcome but I NEED TO KNOW NOW!!!!

Sorry just ignore my ranting!!!

Dh has given up hope of making Capt RN and he goes outside in 3 years. Hence jobs in Brussels, as no point working yourself into an early grave for something that is not going to happen. I think the curve has gone way to the right - db waiting for his brass hat still.

MrsSnaplegs · 24/02/2011 21:40

Scary I was waiting to make 2 1/2 I dream of a brass hat Grin

Problem is with the reduction in manpower there will be even fewer promotions than there are now.

Isn't it automatic to Lt Cdr anymore?

MrsSnaplegs · 01/03/2011 06:58

No not in most branches it is by selection board, only really dr and dentists who still get it automatically at that point.

Well my boss is suddenly having to move jobs to fill a gap elsewhere, his relief isn't available until end of this year so fingers crossed I am going to substitute for 6 months at higher rank - good for my reports for next promotion board and nice to get the extra pay for 6 months (although DH has already started planning to spend itHmm)
Shame it's not permanent promotion but will give me chance to prove myself if I hold it all together!

Better stop wasting time on here!!

Make sure you fitness test is done - no-one available at SHAPE to do it for the Brussels officers, and they were all not entered in the promotion boards this year because of this!

MrsSnaplegs · 17/05/2011 18:50

Yep fitness test booked for tomorrow afternoon although in theory as I have only been back off maternity leave for 6 weeks I don't have to do it till October.

Congratulations MrsSnaplegs.

MrsSnaplegs · 23/02/2012 11:33
