umm. the bean burger is not strictly vegetarian (hence no little veggie society icon) cos its cooked in the chicken fryer.

i like food. but any meat thats gotta be ground up and covered in cheese food for you to want to eat it is pretty darned nasty, and therefore very very tasty. lol.

What happened to wimpey?

Well love Big Macs once every few months and McD's fries def better.

DS loves McDs OR BK as a treat - feel if banned totally it becomes more of a problem. DS knows he can have it ocassionally so he's happy with that. tend to try for "proper" pizza places i.e. not a chain for most trips out - we live in Budapest so although the big fast food places are everywhere it is also poss to get REAL food.

wowy - Most Wimpey fast food places (not the cafes) changes to Burgerking, in the early 90s. IDuring my sixth form years I worked first at Wimpy and then at BK after the changes. Had to go for special new training and everything

We hardly ever go but when we do (like today) we go to Burger King - for all kinds of reasons really

1. They don't add salt on their chips and they are so much nicer than Macdonalds.
2. The burgers are so much nicer and have really fresh salad in them and don't taste or look greasy
3. The don't massively advertise the toys

I also agree with others that if you ban they will only want it more in the future - a little treat once in a while will not harm them.

Oh, forgot my preference. Well, despite working in BK I prefer McDonalds. I like their fillet o' fish. Don't go much, but I always ahve the same when i do go.

MummyJules - you last post made me smile; things must have changed at BK since I worked there, admittedly several years ago. We used to add salt to the chips - lots of - under policy orders, to increase the amount people drank. And the food is cooked ages in advance and warmed ina microwave after ordering. And the sald is put out in the morning and there all day, packed away and night and put in a fridge, then back out next day. As I say, long time ago now though.

This thread has brought it all back - iI was party hostess - 4 parties one after another on a Sunday. Gruesome after a night clubbing on a Saturday!

mc d's food is much fresher, it is kept for ten minutes and then thrown away, bk cook the burgers in the morning and leave them in a steamer for hours and just add the fresh salad!!

are you lot having a larf? i'm just eating a v late lunch of homemade lasagne and salad from our delightful canteen!

Well as a mother of a very allergic child I have to say that Mc Donalds is a life saver, they are everywhere and their chips are the only chips free from milk and glutten. Not that I would feed DS that everyday though.
