re subway: reconstituted meats is what is wrong. also poor labour practices with its workers and franchisees and suppliers.

read the book. of all the damning claims schlosser makes against some of the world's biggest conglomerates, none have tried to contest them. better researched than michael moore, less sensationalist than him. it takes a longer attenton span to digest schlosser hence less well known than moore.

McDonalds Still Orange Fanta!! Full of E numbers! Am I alone?

McDonalds McTastys and BK's Bacon double cheeseburger. I hate all their fries, and I prefer McD's kids meals.

Threads like these with the oh so subtle 'you're an evil mother if you feed your kids this rubbish' ideas make me want to start a MN meetup at McD's thread.......

And yes, I know noone has actually said that exactly, but I'm not going to quote anyone as then I'll get yelled at for beibg 'anti discussion' and then someone will have to quote the MN philosophy

then there is no need to be defensive about it, is there, serenity?

Marthamoo, think your lad must attend the same songwriting school as my DS1!

BK for their bagueetes (do-able points on weightwatchers occasionally), KFC generally though. Do like MacDonalds gherkins...

Everything in moderation I say, except cash and sex (if you want it)

Argh, damn you Mumsnet, for reminding me of the guilty pleasures of a BK Bacon Double Cheese...

I had a MCd's a few weeks ago (at Victoria Station, was desperate) for the first time in about two years and it actually gave me awful stomach cramps for the rest of the day.

The idea of them is quite tempting, the reality rarely lives up to it, though. I'm a good girl now, I am.

I'd forgotten about Spicy Beanburgers (and I'm not even a veggie!) - I used to eat them for breakfast when working at the airport and BK was the closest place to buy food!! YUM!

DH loves spicy beanburgers.

Every time I ate Mcd's when PG I threw, even after the vomiting had stopped (like, a week before delivery!)

Guilty secret time ... before I turned veggie I used to love McDonalds pancakes and sausages with maple syrup for breakfast. And we lived right next door to a McDonalds ...

These days I'm more clued up about what goes into food, and I'm afraid I wouldn't touch either McD's or BK them with a barge pole, and dd doesn't get to eat them either. She thinks that the place is called Old MacDonald's, like the farm - she has no idea that they serve "food" in there.

Cruel mummy ... evil mummy ... mean mummy ... guilty as charged

WWB - I'm the same (veggie, anti McDs) and my ds thinks that when people talk about McDonalds they mean something to do with Old MacDonald too. I think it's cute.

PS -Sorry for diverting from the original question fsmail.

I had a BK bacon double cheeseburger for lunch after reading this thread and it was YUM. Haven't had one for ages and had a hangover to combat.
Waited till the kids had gone to bed though! Have managed to avoid burgers with them so far and didn't want to tempt fate.

Neither for me. I haven't eaten in either for a good 10 years.

I do like Nandos. I like Subway, but generally only vegetarian, and only really as a fast-food last resort.

I do like Harvey's and Wendy's, back home, but only go once a year if that, so I'm ok with that.

Dh and I have mcdonalds about once every 6 months, usually when we are skint and have the two meals for £3.49 voucher... can't really go wrong, apart from the sick and bloated feeling straight after.

McDonalds for burgers, fries, shakes, mcflurrys...

BurgerKing for onion rings.

Macdonalds....mmmmm But we don't have either where I live so there is a rather big novelty factor when we go on hol! Can I just say, if you added KFC into the equation, it'd be KFC every time for me

Have mcdonalds stopped the premier? I haven't seen it round here lately.
We don't eat beef, so it has to be BK, cos mcdonalds mcchicken sandwich is like cardboard, and the fillet burger is nice, but hardly filling. BK's chicken things and beanburgers are scrummy.

kissalot · 25/07/2005 09:05

McDonalds chicken caesear flatbread is yum.
I think McDonalds is fine once in a while for kids we usually go after taking DD1 to the pictures, or if out on a major shopping expedition that requires a bit of bribeing!!
