Was it nice? Why did you choose it? (the venue and the food)

Could you recreate it at home?

Would you?

dim sum looking at london city airport for dh 45th bday. i expect i could recreate it, but the pickled baby octopi would be a bit of a faff.

oh it is such a bargain there too, was about £20 a head for wild feasting. not much booze though.

We went for dinner at a very nice local pub & I had (just checked the menu on their website):

Deli Platter to share - cured meats, sausage cassolet, hummus, garlic ciabatta and deep fried brie

Followed by...

Honey roasted Gressingham duck breast served with buttered spring greens, pan fried potato cake and a red wine shallot dressing

Followed by...

Raspberry panna cotta

It was yummy

The only thing I would attempt to recreate is the starter, although I do a mean roast duck

A grotty looking seaside cafe in Felixstowe. Had Fab fish and chips with a cuppatea!

Bloody ages ago in the summer was the last time I went out. To Pizza Express. It was very nice though. I had the pollo al astra pizza(something like that).

MedusaHead · 20/10/2009 22:04

And yes I could recreate it at home (as long as it was a sloppy guiseppie/margherita/american as they do them in our local sainsbury's).

Otherwise, there is no chance

janeite · 20/10/2009 22:05

I hate Nandos. Mine was a ginger muffin and a latte in Starbucks on Saturday. The last meal out we had was at Pizza express and I had a pizza with olives and artichokes, followed by coffee and baby figs with marscapone. Was lovely.

Fillet steak in Gorgonzola sauce with a mixed salad.

In Al Forno, an Italian restaurant in Wimbledon. We go out for dinner with our DC every Sunday and this is one of our favourites.

I could cook it at home, but they buy fabulous meat, and it's always much better steak than I seem to find.

Don't Twitter much - sort of forgot about it for a while and seem to have lost my thrust now.

zebramummy · 20/10/2009 22:17

the real greek, london - fab but too much food in the feast menu (and ds needed a wee 4 times during the meal)

SixtyFootDoll · 20/10/2009 22:18

me neither so nice to know you are still eating well!!

Fivesetsofschoolfees · 20/10/2009 22:18

Chinese on Saturday. It was a large gathering (parents of one of my DDs), and whoever was organising it ordered the food. It just came when we needed it.

last time i ate out it was not good. i ordered a chicken starter and it was not cooked, still bleeding so i sent it back. they apologised, and said the tandoori oven had been set at the wrong temperature. have had food poisoning from chicken before, so spent the rest of the meal very nervous and lost my appetite. they didn't charge me for my meal after that, don't think i'll go back there in a hurry.

Countryish pub not to far away, i had a pork parmesan as recommended by a friend - it was a bit mushy - not a true northern parmo! I wouldtn want to recreate it - rather buy one from take away.

MrsJiggle86 · 20/10/2009 22:22

I went hungry horse and had bbq chicken skewers, it was very unhealthly but gorgeous
