Do you have How to be a Domestic Goddess? The ginger cake with lemon icing from there is fab. it's in the children's section.

cornflake flapjacks - the recipe is on here somewhere! Takes about 25 mins start to finish and are v yummy. You'll probably have the ingredients in your house.

collision · 15/04/2005 15:37

Ask her for oats too! Not sure if you could sub them tbh. The recipe I'm looking at is Weetabix Caramel Biscuits which needs Condensed milk!

Aero · 15/04/2005 15:49

Ok - I'll type it in for you. Think you'll have the rest.

ediemay · 15/04/2005 15:49

You could just do some fairy cakes with white icing and a raspberry/cherry/sweetie/whatever on the top? Or muffins? I've got easy peasy recipes for both, shout if you want them

Weetabix Caramel Biscuits

Base

115g softened butter
75g plain flour
4 Weetabix
50g caster sugar

Topping

100g butter
50gcaster sugar
175g can condensed milk
225g cooking chocolate

Melt 15g butter and crumble the weetabix.
Rub 100g butter into the flour and then add the crumbled weetabix and sugar.
Press into a 28cmx18cm baking tray and bake at 180oC for 15 mins.

Topping

Melt the butter, sugar and condensed milk in a pan. Bring to the boil and stirring constantly, cook until it begins to thicken. Pour this over biscuit base. Melt the choc in microwave or over a pan of boiling water and spread over the caramel topping. When the choc has hardened, cut into squares.

Good luck. Haven't tried this yet, but it looks nice and fairly easy.
