Ggg, was your cred restored?
Nigella's fairy cakes are really quick and easy and you can do them in a mixer, so here it is for future ref:

125g flour
125g butter
125g sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla essence

Put all ingredients except milk in blender and blitz to get a smooth batter. Add 2tbsp milk, whizz a bit more. Put in cake cases, cook for 10-15 mins. ice. I made 3 batches on Thursday, took half an hour!

WideWebWitch · 16/04/2005 19:39

That's self raising flour btw

Aero · 22/04/2005 11:18

How'd it go ggg?

Have just printed off ML's lemon drizzle cake amongst others and am off to bake some now.
Can't wait!

MarsLady · 22/04/2005 11:30

I'd like to know how it went as well. Let me know how the drizzle cake works Aero. You can make the icing as thick or as thin as you like. My kids like the icing thick and sharp.

Aero · 22/04/2005 14:31

Mars - you is fab!! That cake is wickedly wonderful! Only small glitch was that I only had 4oz icing sugar!! But no problem. Iced a third (more than enough to go with my cuppa and perhaps give the kids a slice), and will go out later to buy more icing sugar! I like the icing not too thick and love the sharpness of the lemon! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
My waist might not love you............but I do!
Am pretty sure Cadbury will want this recipe now too - she's coming to visit later to help keep my sanity levels up as have ds1 and dd both home from school with chicken pox!

gggimmesnowsnow · 09/12/2005 09:16

I am baking from this thread again - and another bloody emergency - have to give the kids something to take for the cake sale this afternoon . Got given the school note about it as I was getting ready to go out last night.

Did the chocolatey thing last time. Am going to do huge load of biscuits now and fairy cakes if I have time....

Thank heavens for Mumsnet.
