nothing too fancy but all recipes welcome.

i know the basics - more wholewheat and oily fish, less animal fats , more exersise.

problem is if it were just for me - no problem - i can eat wholegrain anything til the cows come home, but dh and bil are not bit pasta fans. - so lateral thinking required - i dont mind cooking a seperate bit of pasta for me whilst they have chips or something - but need recipe ideas.

i have some frozen chicken breasts and would love a curry idea. i am not a fan of creamy curries anyway

so any ANY ideas welcome. I hate cooking with a passion - i can't tell you.

i am cooking for 10 people and the occasional school friend/gf/bf and my purse has limits as we are moving house soon.

the quicker
the simpler
the cheaper
the better

thank you

Ok, RE cholesterol:

Mostly I have read the work of Malcolm Kendrick

Also, here.

Bear with me, the actual medical journal articles I read aren't all available freely online, but there is quite a bit there when you start digging.

Re salt:

Hmm, where to start?

Michael Alderman I guess.

More Michael Alderman.

Interesting

Of course, nowadays, you can find 'research' and 'evidence' to back up whatever you believe, as so many studies seem to be based on finding evidence to fit hypothesies that are already believed to be true, so I tend to take it all with a pinch of salt () and live by the rule that it is not the poison that kills us, but the dose.

Hope that helps canofworms

yes cod, loosing weight is a pretty effective way of lowering cholesterol levels and BP, as is increasing exercise and specifically cardiovascular workouts.

Of course, that doesn't help people who have no weight to loose but have high BPs.

It is not simple, all the evidence out there is inconclusive and controversial and causes lots of arguments between different camps, and I am definately no expert on the matter, I am just a geek who reads a lot of medical journals, so I know nothing really.

OMDB I have to agree I think a lot of it is genetic and systemic and nothing dietary has enough effect to reverse high bp or cholesterol It can slightly change it and certainly helps in other areas.

I can lower my BP by doing more exercise and destressing a bit wihtou losing a pound.
