Let she who is without blame cast the first stone (or something) so here goes.

Bottled mint sauce is essential. Who on God's earth would make it themselves??????

I bought chicken dippers recently for visiting child - and I award myself "good hostess" points for that

(especially as he didn't eat anything else on his plate)

WideWebWitch · 29/03/2008 17:16

I know Moondog

Oh I buy Pizza Express pizzas to freeze too

I have bought lazy garlic but have decided it's too vinegary and anyway, I always have garlic in the house

BoysOnToast · 29/03/2008 17:20

i occasionally feed dippers to the precious offspring. to be fair, its just me giving in to dss fussy eating and dp pandering to it.
they are pretty yuk tho, cant eat em myself (when hoovering up leftovers after theyve eaten.

BoysOnToast · 29/03/2008 17:21

lazy garlic is rubbish. its just vinegar in chopped garlic disguise.

TheHonEnid · 29/03/2008 17:27

Packets of Ritz crackers to crush and coat chicken - instant chicken nuggets but with foody-style organic chicken breast

Pataks Korma sauce in a jar to mix with a tin of chick peas for instant 'curry' for kids

ladywombling · 29/03/2008 18:24

Fishfingers, bottled chilli sauce, instant gravy, stock cubes, boullion powder, caramelised onion, tamarind paste, brianna's lemon tarragon salad dressing, packets of ready made stir fry sauces for DH when he is doing a stir fry, sacla pasta sauce and sundried tomato paste.

SlartyBartFast · 29/03/2008 18:27

tesco's apple sauce

EmmyLou · 29/03/2008 18:34

Never mind Tesco apple sauce, I have been known to (quite regularly too) use Costcutter apple sauce. I have an apple tree in the garden and know quite well how easy it is to make...its just that sending dd1 to the village shop seems so much easier.

Quattrocento · 29/03/2008 18:50

Ready made stuffing

Although I do add a couple of sausages and some real onion to it

CitroenDrivingFootballMum · 29/03/2008 18:53

i make mint sauce.

i have also made puff pastry.

but i do have a jar of ready sliced lemons to plop in my g&t

milge · 29/03/2008 19:02

I am going to win this,I confess to MD's pet hate :

Bisto!

Marvellous stuff - how else do you make gravy when you have roasted some chicken breasts and don't have roast juices. Or when you cook sausages and need to have onion gravy with them?

I do make my own gravy with a roast.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 29/03/2008 19:14

Aunt Bessies Yorkshire Puddings for tith for ds.

I did have....... secreted right at the back of the cupboard.............some gravy granules to go with the TITH.

DH found it and was genuinely appalled, until I pointed out that it was hard to make gravy from an oven cooked sausuage.

CitroenDrivingFootballMum · 29/03/2008 19:38

will also admit to covent garden soups...

moondog · 29/03/2008 19:46

Bisto is sputum of Satan.
Dh and I shriek with laughter remembering his British colleague in Turkey who married a Turkish woman and proudly told us that he had introduced his new mil to Bisto granules.

I can't even begin to think what her views on him advising her, Turkish kitchen goddess, on how to prepare a meal are.
