Wednesday - omelettes and salad

Tonight - we were out for lunch so probably just cheese and crackers, if anything

Tomorrow - the black bean soup we failed to make earlier in the week

Monday = veggie haggis, tatties and neeps, peas, carrots

Then I'm thinking:
penne alla vodka
jacket spuds, salad and coleslaw
mushroom and stilton pie
pizzas and salad
in no particular order.

I haven’t decided an order either yet but got DS and DH to go through One Pot, Pan, Planet to choose a meal each and DD wants to try out the new pizza van so at least I haven’t had to make many decisions:

Sunday - crab sautéed with cabbage, spinach and parsley (on top of spaghetti for the others)
rest of the week tbc:

  • fish finger sandwiches for DD and DH, veggie burgers for DS and I
  • flash fried sticky tofu and rice
  • smoky seeded carbonara
  • pizza from the van
  • Salmon and broccoli for D.C., fake duck at the bottom of the freezer for DH and I

Same! Def doing that one

DocOck · 02/02/2024 10:30

Looks good doesn't it. We love aubergines, we're not veggie but if I do a decent aubergine dinner my DH doesn't miss the meat and we like to have a few meat free meals.

SpaceOP · 02/02/2024 10:52

@DocOck We also love aubergine. Sometimes I add them to recipes so that DS doesn't turn his nose up - especially curries. Chickpea and pepper curry? Add some aubergines and DS will eat it.

DocOck · 02/02/2024 11:48

I made this Gousto recipe last week and it was so good! I will definitely make again. Not veggie though.

SpaceOP · 02/02/2024 11:54

We haven't cracked gnocchi. But we do a spicy tomato/chorizo/aubergine pasta a lot and it's a big favourite over here - seems similar.

DocOck · 02/02/2024 12:07

I love gnocchi, it's became a staple in our house but I prefer it crispy.

HalloumiFries · 02/02/2024 12:28

Didn't post last week - unfortunately we lost FiL so lives have been a bit upside down for the last 10 days. Hopefully will make a plan this weekend and get back to normal from Monday but I'm popping in to say that the bbc aubergine pie recipe is a staple in our house - it's really good and highly recommended!

SpaceOP · 02/02/2024 12:35

@HalloumiFries I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you and your family are okay. Lots of easy, forgiving, whatever-goes meals I think!

HalloumiFries · 02/02/2024 13:51

@SpaceOP Thank you. Tbh, we've had nearly two weeks of that and I'm now craving normality, routine and proper cooking (inc vegetables). Two more nights of anything goes and then I'll make a plan and do a big shop on Sunday to get us back on track.

Citygirlrurallife · 03/02/2024 09:08

I’m going to do that aubergine pie!!

Saturday: aubergine harissa pie
Sunday: out for pub lunch
Monday: garlic, chilli and mushroom pasta
Tuesday: clam linguine for the others, lemon risotto for me
Wednesday: vegan hotpot

HalloumiFries · 03/02/2024 17:25

Picked up a chicken and leek pie at the farmers market this morning - with mash and veg that will do us for tomorrow and Monday.

After that, the plan is:

Tuesday: chicken noodle soup and veg gyoza
Wednesday: roast courgette, goats cheese and pesto flatbreads with broccoli and quinoa salad
Thursday: butternut squash, mushroom and spinach curry
Friday: baked gnocchi with roast squash and goats cheese.
Saturday: Baked ham with broccoli cheese

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/02/2024 23:04

Monday - spag bol
Tuesday - posh chicken Kiev from M&S with mash and veg
Wednesday - Moroccan spiced meatballs, roasted veg and cous cous
Thursday - the meatballs again
Friday - pizza, salad, garlic bread
Saturday - the M&S Chinese box if I remember to pick it up on Wednesday
Sunday - chicken satay curry and naan and rice

BackCat · 03/02/2024 23:25

Last week didn’t go quite to plan so I have the paella still to make, so that will need to be tomorrow.

So this coming week it will be:

  • Sunday - Paella and salad.
  • Monday - burritos - just my chilli con carne - which seems to go down well -with some salad and avocado in the parcel.
  • Tuesday - Butternut squash and chickpea curry and rice probably with broccoli.
  • Wednesday - pasta and meatballs with green veg on the side.
  • Thursday - roast chicken with the trimmings.
  • Friday - salmon, greens of some description and I can’t decide what to do with it - don’t fancy rice this time, kids don’t eat mashed potato, so maybe sautéed potatoes, or a different grain like millet or quinoa.
  • Saturday - it will be Chinese New Year- maybe we’ll go to a Chinese restaurant.
hailholyqueen · 04/02/2024 11:04

Sun: roast chicken, bean and leek gratin, roast sweet potatoes, carrots and tenderstem broccoli

Mon: chicken and lentil curry

Tues: pasta with leftover pesto, creme fraiche, bits from the fridge and chicken

Weds: cod (but using haddock) and chickpea curry

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/02/2024 13:55

Trying to avoid doing an order, so using things up and/or trying to choose stuff we can buy in the local crappy Co-Op:

today is a lazy Sunday lunch - ready made nut roast / prepared sprouts / carrots in the microwave with some honey / prepared new potatoes in butter / M&S cauliflower cheese / gravy

Tomorrow - yellow sticker pizza with rocket and coleslaw

Tuesday - fish fingers / home-made wedges / homemade 'mushy' peas with mint / tartare sauce (jar but then I like to add chopped gherkins, capers and silver skin onions to jazz it up a bit)

Weds - probably pasta of some sort

Thursday - no idea

Friday - probably out
