  1. Liver/kidney/offal in general
  2. Kidney beans. in fact any kind of bean except baked beans.
  3. Woolly, dry apples, as opposed to crisp juicy ones.

ditto@goat related products. Goat's cheese, which everyone in the world except me seems to love - makes me want to yack! Same as sheep related products to me. I can't even go into the bit of M&S where they sell lambswool jumpers without wanting to hurl. it's a serious affliction!

LyraSilvertongue · 25/11/2007 10:07

Lots of votes here for kidneys/offal and olives.
I've tried to like olives but i just can't.

1)Bananas. Including sight and smell.

2)Olives

3)Tuna, again mainly a smell issue.

fizzbuzz · 25/11/2007 10:15

There is nothing as revolting as grapefruit.........except sprouts, which are, in fact little balls of vomit in disguise. They even smell like it

Marne · 25/11/2007 10:22

fizzbuzz · 25/11/2007 10:31

Why are some foods more hated than others? Eg sprouts, mushrooms, olives are all mentioned over and over again.

What is it about them?

lulu25 · 25/11/2007 10:31

beetroot
chestnuts (texture)
lamb

lulu25 · 25/11/2007 10:32

fizzbuzz i love olives, mushrooms, goat's cheese but they are all quite strong tastes and i get why people would not like them.

the one that puzzles me is grapefruit, which keeps popping up on here. wtf?

brimfull · 25/11/2007 10:32

cooked tomatoes on their own (don't mind them mixed up with other stuff but sitting on plate with cooked breakfast yuck}

FrannyandZooey · 25/11/2007 10:34
  1. olives
  2. goat's cheese
  3. blue cheese
BettySpaghetti · 25/11/2007 10:34

fizzbuzz -according to a friend of mine (who is a science bod) sprouts contain a chemical that, depending on your genetic make-up, can taste bitter to some people.

Hence some people really disliking them.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/11/2007 10:38

3 more

  1. Goat's cheese
  2. blue cheese
  3. tinned whole tomatoes.

I eat most things - but don't relish the thought of offal much though

However I cannot say 'cinnamon' for the life of me

pepperrabbit · 25/11/2007 10:41
  1. Olives (I too have really really tried to like them but they're just foul).
  2. Cauliflower
  3. Cream, nasty stuff -especially the runny stuff people pour over things...
LyraSilvertongue · 25/11/2007 10:44

What about the crusty top layer on clotted cream?
I really can't stand anything with coriander in it either.
And i don't consider myself to be a fussy eater

OP posts:
colditz · 25/11/2007 10:46

Oh yes, grapefruit. Satan's Testicles.

wordgirl · 25/11/2007 10:46

Yes! Someone else who doesn't like coriander. It's a bugger to pick out of things isn't it? My list would be:-

  1. Coriander
  2. Mushrooms
  3. Offal
mamazon · 25/11/2007 10:47

1- Mushrooms. they are vile disgusting things that make me feel ill just looking at them.

2- lemon. cannot eat it whole, cooked or as a flavour to anything.

3- indian food. i know this is a bit general but basicly anything with that "curry" taste.

nutcracker · 25/11/2007 10:51
  1. Peas
  2. Marmite
  3. Peanut butter
80sMum · 25/11/2007 11:03

Cooked egg white (eugh, so 'flubbery'!)
Swede
Turnip

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 25/11/2007 11:09

brawn/kidneys (liver is fine)
foie gras (method over taste)
blue cheese

I tried really hard to think of a vegetable/fruit that I hated, I'm indifferent to aubergine and olives but still eat them if they're part of the meal.
