Gusto boxes

Just started the gusto boxes. Would anyone like to swap recipe choices? / hints?

I’m cooking the prawn farfalle today - about to serve it for lunch but baffled the online recipe and physical recipe card don’t match. One says rocket one says pea shoots - I assume that’s a sub but weird that it’s the physical version that’s correct!

Has anyone else made this one? Or have any tips on choosing gusto meals?

We had beef bulgogi tonight. It was okay. We also had salmon and gnocci, which was nice and chicken chow mein, which was also okay. I think I order things that DD will like, but wouldn't necessarily be my top choice, so I think I might be getting a bit bored!

Was the beef bulgogi one of the Korean dishes?
We have only tried one of the Korean meals (the prawn soup) which we enjoyed and we have the Buldak chicken arriving next week.

Yes, the beef bulgogi was Korean, but it was just a stir-fry really. We have an amazing Korean takeaway near us though, and get bowls stuffed with vegetables and all sorts of lovely flavours, so I perhaps have high expectations!

I've still got the Korean chicken and the Korean bimimpap. Then having a break got a couple of weeks. Am trying hard to go low carb so maybe might start ordering less gousto going forward.

Yes! I really don’t like green peppers very much. This week (which will be the last one as our discount has finished) luckily I have in red peppers to swap for the green ones, nice tomatoes to use in place of the hard orange ones and a few extra spuds to supplement the golf ball sized ones we received!

What’s everyone having this week?
I have a box coming tomorrow. Have chosen the lighter chilli and prawn linguine, cheesy mushroom risotto, Korean Buldak chicken and the chicken biryani.

I had the battered fish tonight. It was lovely. Made me feel like I should be on masterchef. Unfortunately I had the shallot substituted for onion but the homemade tartare sauce was nice anyway. Would've been nicer with shallot.

Haven't had it from Gousto but I get it from Hello Fresh all the time.

I haven’t cancelled Gousto so I’m not sure if they send discounts to tempt you back. I have my subscription paused so I am not committed to buying a box on a regular basis. If I leave it a few months I sometimes get sent a discount for my next box.

Hello Fresh send codes to tempt you back. My mum cancelled them a few weeks back and she has had been offered 30% off if she joins again.
I have a code for Hello Fresh if you fancy giving them a try.

I've looked at hello fresh but find it horrible in comparison. You can't filter the recipes by dietary needs, and they're much more calorific than gousto. Don't think it's for me.

I guess you could try registering under a different email with Gousto and then you may be able to get the new customer discounts.
