Gusto boxes

Just started the gusto boxes. Would anyone like to swap recipe choices? / hints?

I’m cooking the prawn farfalle today - about to serve it for lunch but baffled the online recipe and physical recipe card don’t match. One says rocket one says pea shoots - I assume that’s a sub but weird that it’s the physical version that’s correct!

Has anyone else made this one? Or have any tips on choosing gusto meals?

I thought that too - I make a lot of use of the Ocado reviews so would be good to have a facility like that

When you rate a recipe it asks you to leave comments too. No idea where those comments go, whether it's just feedback for their chefs but would like them to be on their website.

How does the delivery work? Do you get given a time slot, or is it literally any time on the chosen day?

It's any time, but you get a text with a two hour window on the day. The stuff stays cold in the box for a few hours though as it's packed with ice.

Can I ask about portion sizes?
I have a teen with hollow legs and a dh on his feet all day.
I'm worried portions might not be enough?

Some meals for two seem to be enough to feed three, others not so much. I think I've only ever had one thing that didn't seem big enough for the two of us and we have healthy appetites, though probably not teen boy level!

You might need to bulk some of the recipes up for teen with potatoes or veg on the side.

I usually get 3 or 4 portions from the meals for 2. Agree with pp add extra veg or carbs for teenagers.

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit you sometimes need to bulk with carbs a bit but the protein and veg helpings are just right

I've got the veggie skewers, tofu Katsu, and French salmon

Definitely want to try to tofu katsu next time they have it.
My next box isn't here until 7 April, I've ordered:
Garlic and Prawn linguine
Sticky honey mustard meat-free sausages with greens
Mushroom Wellington with onion gravy and mash
Black bean salmon and soy lime noodles

Probably the most adventurous I've been with my choices!

I’m having the creamy bacon and mushroom linguine (but have bought cream to swap out the beans), Mexican one pot beef, asparagus and almond risotto and the bang bang prawn noodles

Tonight we've got Portuguese pork bifana sandwich and tomorrow the spiced chicken wraps.

We had the Mexican one pot last night - very spicy so I was glad I’d only put in two thirds of the chilli flakes and chipotle. Was a bit meh but dp and I are having the leftovers for lunch so maybe it will have improved overnight

Disaster on the beany linguine thing - the cream didn’t come in the internet shop so now it’s beans or nothing!! I’m tempted just to leave out the beans and have the pasta with the bacon

@foxhasbigsocks would cream cheese work with a bit of milk to loosen it?

We had the asparagus and almond risotto tonight. I found the recipe a bit confusing- couldn’t work out when to add the chopped asparagus and then the rice seemed to take ages to cook. Anyway finally it tasted ok!!
