Gusto boxes

Just started the gusto boxes. Would anyone like to swap recipe choices? / hints?

I’m cooking the prawn farfalle today - about to serve it for lunch but baffled the online recipe and physical recipe card don’t match. One says rocket one says pea shoots - I assume that’s a sub but weird that it’s the physical version that’s correct!

Has anyone else made this one? Or have any tips on choosing gusto meals?

We just had the lemon and herb baked fish over potatoes for our Sunday lunch! Was delicious but will rerun with cod instead of basa

We remade the miso fish goujons with cod and it was lush.

I had the Halloumi topped tomatoey Smoked beans today, was so nice I almost ate both portions! Am glad though that Gousto has got me eating an almost vegetarian diet. Next step is for me to start paying attention to thr calories in each meal - need to shed those lockdown pounds!!

What time does your box tend to arrive? Mine is due today and I've just had a text saying it'll be delivered between 7pm and 9pm Last week it came after 7pm well. That's just too late in the day, especially if we're wanting to make one for
our evening meal

Southern Thai curry was delicious last night. What's not to like about peanut butter and coconut cream?!

The Thai curry sounds nice. We're having korma tonight. The butternut squash biryani has been our favourite so far.

I contacted customer services on chat who assured me it would arrive before 7pm as they were going to contact the depot manager at Yodel. Needless to say it's 18:50 and no box. The tracker is showing another twenty odd drops before mine

We started getting Gousto during the first lockdown, mainly to avoid going to the supermarket as much. I thought we'd last a few weeks and then knock it in the head, but we're still ordering every week!
I absolutely love the fact that it takes the pressure off the weekly meal planning and shopping. We've had a few duds but most of the meals are pretty good and quite a few are outstanding.
The kids love the spag bol and I always get at least one fish dish. Really worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for thr heads up @stocksandscares. I've gone in and ordered because they're only a limited range. I've gone with the Korean fried chicken (over 900 calories!!) and the Korean prawn noodle soup.

@StocksandScares thanks so much for letting me know - just went in and ordered and got all four Korean meals!! I don’t think the kids will be happy with that so might have to go in and swap one or two to some of the kid friendly ones - my two are not hugely adventurous

That's weird, my box for 12 April just isn't there, it says my next one is 19th (I've chosen for next week) - I'm pretty sure I've not skipped a box.

Apparently a glitch in the system and I just need to order an extra box.

Korean week looks awesome. Really looking forward to that.

Just made the bacon and mushroom linguine. The bean sauce was strange. I whizzed it is as per the recipe but it was still grainy. Cream cheese would've been far nicer.

I've gone in an added a third Korean dish! No restaurants means I can treat myself.

Had the cheese mushroom risotto today which is always lovely and filling.

We had some smoky fish cakes yesterday and they were cracking, made nine hooge fish cakes so enough for lunches as well. Not had a dud yet and 3 weeks in.

We've ordered 3 of the Korean recipes.

Can anyone tell me how to find reviews on gousto please? I can see average star rating but nothing else.

@Torvi ugh sounds grim and I’m having that tomorrow. Very odd recipe now I’m looking at it properly!

I think I might leave out the beans and just use cream!

@Torvi thanks so much for the warning - I’ve added cream to my shop so it won’t be “lighter” now but at least it will actually taste nice!!
