Mumsnet Village Show - An Afternoon Tea Tray for One

So here we are again.

So far the rules are:

Tea tray for one

Can include anything you want suitable for a summer high tea (sandwiches, scones, cake, biscuits etc) with suitable cutlery and crockery and the like. (Silver service if you are terribly posh)

Five quid budget (on top of what you already have in your larder).

SlightlyMadScientist is the judge (heaven help us...is she properly qualified???)

Oh and all entries will be anonymous this time (A, B, C etc).

Time limit is 9pm next sunday so we can be judged before bed time.

The rules will obviously be bent or completely ignored but so long as its tea ish then anything goes.

Clay or river mud (which indeed was a clay mix) so absolutely, the spines come out when you take off the baked clay apparently.

Old gypsy thing I am told.

I used to work for a lady who provided meals if you were on the evening shift (this was in the Quantock Hills), you always got something poached- rabbit, pheasant, venison, salmon, pigeon (pigeon is yuck). Always tasted fab but you had to watch your teeth or you could break them on bits of shot

Poor old bambi eh?

Slubberdegullion · 26/06/2007 19:24

Oh I like a spot of pidgeon pie.

Hedgehogs no. They are really vile creatures btw, we raised a family of orphans. You do not want to se a hedgehog enthusiastically devouring a snail. One of the most revolting sights I've ever seen in my life.

DontAskMeToJudgeCupCakeComps · 26/06/2007 19:52

Evening. heard my name (Mrs Slubberdegullion) and popped in to see whats going on for the next comp. I have no delicate china, (big sigh) and i see the comp is for 'tea for one'. Could I bend the rules a teeny weeny bit and do 'tea for twenty two' as i have the Sunday cricket teas to do. I could pile it all on one table if that would help?
