Surely then Scatter same applies to suggesting op thinks herself 'more of a parent' when she has categorically says she doesn't ?

LilyLoo · 30/04/2007 22:16

Scatter surely we all agree to disagree then ?

scatterbrain · 30/04/2007 22:16

If you think so......

LilyLoo · 30/04/2007 22:17

ok then guess not moving on !

NappiesGalore · 30/04/2007 22:17

i didnt slag her off. and i agree is incomplete evidence. i couldnt give a rats arse what was in the munchbox of the aquaintance of the op who is an utter stranger to me. i couldnt even give a stuff if it was the lunchbox of my sisters child. personally, and i speak for boco here too (!!) i was commenting on the phenomenon of getting all defensive about such discussions.... and it wasnt directed at anyone in particular, but you bit so i tugged the line (or whatever it is people do when theyre fishing. ive never been fishing what the hell do i klnow??)

scatterbrain · 30/04/2007 22:18

Can't you hear me ???

I

DO

NOT

CARE !!!!

FiveFingeredFiend · 30/04/2007 22:19

My children had Jam/ham/cheesespread/cornedbeef sandwiches, bag of crisp, chocolate waifer, drink, water for class, fruit.

This wasn't 1972 oh no! it was only 5 years ago.

I doubt unless i found mumsnet that i would have been self flagulating at all.

NappiesGalore · 30/04/2007 22:19

lololol

I AM CALM"!!!!!

This pisses me off - we know much more about food these days, so what's all this talk about "didn't do me any harm". It's about doing the best we can we the info we now have surely. And why the "" would anyone have to fall back on junk if they hadn't done the shopping. If you shop for junk then that's what'll be in the cupboard. There is nothing wrong with a treat, or even some occasional junk, IN MODERATION but there is little excuse for it, unless you are ill-educated which is plausible and forgiveable. I see HUGE difference in the behaviour of my kids if I feed them motorway tat. They become e-monsters. Rant over - ish.

CorkyPirbright · 30/04/2007 22:19

NG - Not being defensive. A dislike of snobbery & sticky beaking is a totally seperate issue to my feelings about what goes into my kids lunchbox or anyone elses, come to that. But hey, even the "MN is shit" lady has decided to stay so everything in the garden is lovely and lets all be friends ((((hugs))))

Springadora · 30/04/2007 22:20

Oh and another thing - this is a discussion forum so anything posted is everyone's business. What's wrong with a good old debate (NB debate, not slanging match)?

NappiesGalore · 30/04/2007 22:23

still giggling at anyone taking any of this seriously

Springadora · 30/04/2007 22:24

Nappies - wait till yours start school - it's feel much more real then!

LilyLoo · 30/04/2007 22:27

Nappy's guess i have got my first real mnet slanging match, shame she didn't want to let it go but hey many more threads of real importance !

NappiesGalore · 30/04/2007 22:30

lol spring. why? coz i dont feed them yet? or coz i'll suddenly change personality and give a stuff what anyone else thinks?

CorkyPirbright · 30/04/2007 22:30

Night night all. I'm off to bed with a pot of organic fairtrade carrot sitcks and some home made multiseed lentil loaf.

NappiesGalore · 30/04/2007 22:31

nah lilyloo - that wasnt a slanging match, was it??

Springadora · 30/04/2007 22:33

NG - just meant that once they start school proper, you'll maybe have to come up with a lunchbox that satisifies what you think they need to eat AND what they will tolerate/eat on a daily basis (which can be a juggling act for many mums). And BTW, I don't give a stuff about others' opinions either. It's irrelevant when it comes to what matters surely.

FiveFingeredFiend · 30/04/2007 22:34

Springdora MN don't do debates. Just FYI everyone thinks they are right.

A)Why do you feed your child rubbish?

b)My child has the odd rubbish occasionally there is nothing wrong with that.

A)My child never eats rubbish if you buy rubbish they eat rubbish (infering you are rubbish)

B)How very rubbish of you to infer i am rubbish, i said occasional rubbish.
There is nothing wrong with rubbish now and again

C)I was astounded to see cheesestrings and pepperami given as a snack, the mum must have been rubbish.

b) My kids have cheesestrings occasionally, i am not rubbish. you know nothing about me you sanctimonious rubbish person, your comments are rubbish and your attitude is RUBBISH

A) OH i can't believe this i'm off. Mumsnet is rubbish these days.

FiveFingeredFiend · 30/04/2007 22:34

NG i think you will find your childrens lunchbox is highly regulated by the LEA.

NappiesGalore · 30/04/2007 22:35

good point spring. luckily for me, theyre going to a v nice school which does healthy cooked lunches which they do (or ds1 does anyway as hes the only one eating them so far) eat.
one less thing to worry about, eh?

Springadora · 30/04/2007 22:38

FFF - actually, MN does do debates. Seeing other people's sensitivities on what seemed cut and dried to me has moderated my opinion on a number of issues.

LilyLoo · 30/04/2007 22:38

Ff Here with you on the 'rubbish' theme ng hope not

NappiesGalore · 30/04/2007 22:42

of course everyone thinks theyre right. you dont go round doing things you know are wrong, do you?
i do enjoy hearing other POV's. helps to clarify my own

Springadora · 30/04/2007 22:43

Er. lots of people do things they know are wrong.
