That DH has asked if you have any more recipes that are so yummy, they dont have to be cake recipes... savory ones will be great. Anything that is really delicious.

Red bean soup sounds interesting.

Frumpygrumpy: the name Bigknickersbigknockers is about me, wish it was something that implied i was slim but I suppose it wont help me trying out cake recipes that are cooked in a roasting tin{wink]
Marslady: I baked the legendary lemon drizzle cake at 5pm yesterday and its all gone!

I study online honey lol and I've got broadband so I like to keep abreast of things on here lol!

Choccie version

Omit the lemon rind. Pop in 3-4 tablespoons of COCOA powder (not drinking chocolate). Break a large bar of chocolate and stir into mix (all weights the same as before). Cook for slightly less time.

To top the cake melt another large bar of chocolate (microwave but don't let it cook), add a dollop of oil. Pour over cake and leave to set

winestein · 01/02/2007 18:43

I like the thought of peanut chicken! Can I come round for dinner?

Failing that, can you post the recipe please

MarsLady · 01/02/2007 18:50

Winestein...you're on! lol

Chicken
Tinned tomatoes
Chillies
2-3 tbsps of peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
A little water
A bay leaf
Fave herbs (which is basically what I have to hand that smells like it would be good with chicken)

Bung in pot and cook, or in oven... your choice. You can blend the sauce down when it's cooked if you like!

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Chilli to taste btw.

Serve with fluffy rice

SlightlyMadScientist · 01/02/2007 19:43

Mars I wouldn't want to step on your toes - but I have been waiting for an opportunity to post this fabulous choc frosting recipe

Break 150g dark cocolate into basin and combine with 150ml double cream.
Heat over pan of boiling water until choc has melted, and combined with cream

Leave to cool a little before putting in fridge to cool some more. Stir regularly and spread onto cake when it reaches the consistency of butter. It is even better if cake is still slightly warm when you spread it on as it melts into cake a little.

Makes enough to fill middle and top of a standard round cake.

Aloha · 01/02/2007 19:45

Please, please, will somebody either post or email me this legendary recipe!

lulumama · 01/02/2007 19:47

SlightlyMadScientist · 01/02/2007 21:10

Can I ask a probably stupid question?

When you say combine all ingrediants & mix - do you mean all at once? or do you have to do the traditional cream sugar & fat, then add eggs one anta time, fold in flour type stuff?

bigknickersbigknockers · 02/02/2007 13:18

mars... what sort of oil do you add to the chocolate for the cake topping. Vegetable or sunflower?

OP posts:
tenbygirl · 02/02/2007 16:09
