I want to get a 2 week menu running, but I know how to cook sod all (I CAN cook, just need recipes and a kick).

I am on a tight budget, so it needs to be as cheap as possible, filling, but healthy.

We all like pretty much everything (apart from the evils of cous cous).

PLEASE can yous who do this kind of stuff come and post oodles of recipes so I can sort a 2 week menu and shopping list?

You are all stars.

(Oh, not opposed to vegi options too)

I have a table (with days, lunch, tea, how many of your five a day) would you like it?

Katymac · 27/10/2006 08:52

Also we spend about £50 a week plus meat (& that feed DH, me, DD and a variety fo childminded children)

Lexielou · 27/10/2006 08:54

At first glance it looks great. Thankyou so much

Reading with interest. Have just spent nearly £70 on online shop with Sainsburys (can only use them for online shop). £70 is way too much for me and 3 kids. I need it to be £50 at the most.

nutcracker · 28/10/2006 11:27

got it thanks katie - just remembered cheese/pot pie as well - any ideas on getting DH to eat that cos he won't but thta's a good cheap filling meal - I guess a few ssausages cut up or ham and mashed thru with salad? - might try that one actually and see how we go. got good variation as well.

Katymac · 28/10/2006 12:01

Put some sweet potato or carrot or squash in it as well

munz · 28/10/2006 12:02

ooh yes there's an idea - can get him to eat sweet pot that way as well - isn't it terrible when u have to bribe DH as well as the children! lol.

Katymac · 28/10/2006 12:06

Do you not do sweet potato chips - I have died & gone to heaven just thinking about it

I make soup by boling a pack (or half a pack)of frozen mixed veg (you know swede, carrot, onion, celery - they are called stew pack or casserole mix) for an hour with a stock cube - Liquidise & add milk to taste

Or fry frozen onion, frozen peppers in olive oil & garlic (from a jar) add tinned tomatoes & liquidise for tomato soup

munz · 28/10/2006 12:08

yep I eat them - DH won't even try anything which is remotely differnt! lol - gonna have to get creative! lol.

(sorry have hijacked FB's thread )
