They taste disgusting I have to admit but kids like them. DS2 had a blue slush puppy the other day

my ds said other kids used to laugh at his lunch box when he was smaller.
He is really not into shit food though thankfully.
When I moved here from NZ I was truly horrified at what my ds got offered at our first pub meal.
In NZ they simply do smaller portions of main adult meals without the spicy extras etc

Powerade is vile stuff. Why does it have to be blue though? Its on permanent BOGOF in Morrisons... its the only hope they have of getting it sold. When you first mentioned a blue drink, I immediately thought it must be Panda Pops, which are even worse.

I'm off on a school outing on Monday - can't wait to see what emerges from those lunch boxes after reading some of the threads on here

Eeee....when I were a lass we got a prem butty on warbies toastie bread (cut into triangles) a packet of XL Sausage & Tomato crisps, a Blue Riband bar, a carton of Kia-Ora and an orange...an an orange if we were lucky

lots of people put in special treats for trips - esp those who have hot dinners who don't normally have packed lunch

I always put in odd things (like jam sandwiches which I never normally give) because everything has to be disposable and I don't like giving meat/fish sarnies unless I've put a cool block in.

(Nemo - I had a thing for the raspberry slush puppy aswell - don't know what came over me! Hardly see them anymore now)

Why does everything have to be disposable? Anyway,most of them were ramming their wrappers back in their lunchboxes.

There is also an unspeakable drink in a little soft plastic bottle that one seems to need to bite the top off to gain entry.

I avert my eyes when I see it in the newsagent.

Some schools have rules that everything be disposable on trips moondog. Sounds like yours didn't. Ours didn't either. Had to spend a tenner on a power rangers lunchbox to stick DS's tuna and cucumber on brown sandwich and carrot sticks in.

I think all this school outing business is taking its toll on you moondog. I'm not sure this is the contribution you can make to school life which is most suitable for you.
