Have you eaten any of your cake? Does it taste as light and fluffy as a cloud? :)

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 14/08/2012 19:43

It does! It really does!!! :)

There's a thread on here somewhere all about rainbow cakes...

VikingVagine · 14/08/2012 19:45

I'm surprised that those of you who have black ones want to change them, I am still mulling over which one to buy in a decade year or so and so far I'm thinking black, because then even if I change decor it will still fit it.

Baffledandbewildered · 15/08/2012 06:50

I've had mine for ten years and I still love it. It gets patted everyday like a dog!! Best investment ever

Kveta · 15/08/2012 07:49

I got the cobalt blue one too, love it. Ds is nearly 3 and knows how to use it, so we have made a lot of sponge and fairy cakes together! Which reminds me, must get more butter and sugar.

tallslutnopanties · 15/08/2012 07:55

I'm getting mine for my next big birthday (this time next year). There seem to be lots of different models though... What is the difference between the £700 and the £400 ones? Which one do I need? I want one for use about once a week but that will literally last me forever....

I'm going to spend the next year researching perving at them online!

lalaloopylou · 15/08/2012 08:00

Dare I ask what a kitchen aid is and why it is so amazing?

Kveta · 15/08/2012 08:14

lala one of these beauties

they are beautiful and fantastic food mixers too :)

curiousgeorgie · 15/08/2012 08:15

I never ever bake, but this thread just made me google a kitchenaid mixer and have a little daydream of my DH coming home to the smell of cakes and me wearing an apron..

They should use this thread for advertising! :)

lalaloopylou · 15/08/2012 08:36

It does look rather fabulous! Think I may have to start saving for one!

GWenlockMaryLacey · 15/08/2012 10:46

Any cake left, caffeine? I'm still trying to decide on mine. Maybe red velvet...

Well, we've just got home and I've unpacked it. It's sitting there looking at me and I'm thinking wtf have I done? I'm a bit scared of it! Blush I'm sure I'll be fine once I start using it but just at the moment I'm a little bit intimidated!

Tell me I'm being silly please! :o

GWenlockMaryLacey · 15/08/2012 17:19

It's is utterly beautiful btw. No denying that! I have stroked it a bit but alas the children need dinner so I can't use it yet... Unless I do toad in the hole... Confused

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 15/08/2012 17:23

Your being silly :) it's not as daunting as it looks think of the cake :o

crazy8 · 15/08/2012 17:30

If I had won the euromillions, I'd have a shelf made which could hold a KA in every colour Grin

GWenlockMaryLacey · 15/08/2012 18:56

Right. One batch of red velvet cupcakes cooling. Didn't have the energy amid tea time for a big cake.

Those of you who've had one since the year dot, can I use my usual 'bung everything in together, stir to buggery and hope for the best' method? For some reason I followed the recipe to the letter and it was a faff, kitchenaid or not!
