Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!

It is so light and fluffy, I can't believe it. I normally crap at baking. This is such a hit!

Clearly weighing is unnecessary though...

MrsSpoon · 26/01/2006 22:49

Thank you MrsMills! Have copy pasted for fear of Marslady asking for it to be deleted!

Anyone know what size of tin?

ScoffedTooManyMaccyDsLady · 26/01/2006 23:04

tin size

alternate tin

MrsSpoon · 26/01/2006 23:23

Thanks for that Mars!

Got me with that blasted bat too! I forgot all about the bat!

MarsOnLife · 26/01/2006 23:35

You're welcome!

sunchowder · 26/01/2006 23:41

OK, back! I made the famous Lemon Drizzle tonight as was inspired by the NBG debacle and very funny thread. It came out very, very tasty indeed! DH is still not home for dinner. My chicken is almost ready so I will get to see if he likes it along with the kids. I LOVE it!

Thank you MARS and NBG then!

sunchowder · 26/01/2006 23:42

Olive oil might be a bit strong, I guess you could try it!

MarsOnLife · 26/01/2006 23:45

I'm glad sunchowder.

Someone had to make the bloody thing properly this evening (or afternoon).

Hope the family love it! It's a staple in this house.

Right............ I'm off to bed. Nighty night

sunchowder · 26/01/2006 23:46

Good night and thanks again!

JayzMummy · 27/01/2006 00:54

Mars's lemon drizzle is the best cake in the whole wide world....and the reason I have gone up a jeans size!!!!!

I added some coconut to one I made last week and it twas so yummylicious.

Micku5 · 27/01/2006 08:06

Just wanted to say thank you MarsLady.... I made the cake on Sunday for the family and again for a party on Wednesday.... and everyone loved it!!!

My DH was not happy when it was all gone. I told him that it was a recipe from a mumnetter and he said that MN came up trumps!!

SoupDragon · 27/01/2006 08:11

Having made 100 cookies for a friend yesterday, I think I'll be giving baking a miss today... tempting as it is... and I do have lemons in the fridge... and the right tin, SR flour and enough butter/marg as it happens.

CatBert · 27/01/2006 08:21

"Have you tried the 2 week lemon drizzle cake add a jeans size diet?"

houseworkmum · 27/01/2006 08:43

MarsOnLife · 27/01/2006 10:48

Have no idea about the gas... ooh hang on... Delia will know.........or Nigella.....or Jamie.........

It's gas mark 4

SoupDragon · 27/01/2006 10:50

Words can not describe how sick I felt having eaten my bodyweight in raw cookie mixture yesterday...

MarsOnLife · 27/01/2006 10:52

PMSL!!!!!!!!!!!

What you need now is a nice bit of lemon drizzle!

SoupDragon · 27/01/2006 12:27

Have to say, the recipe looks very similar to Nigella's Lemon Syrup Loaf which is one of my favourite cakes in the whole world.

anorak · 27/01/2006 12:35
