Kitchenaid - tell me honestly, will I love it if I have one for christmas?

I have been not so secretly hankering after one for ages, and dh has offered to buy me one for christmas. But it is lots of money and I need to be sure, will I really like it?

Anyone who has a kitchenaid, can you tell me how fab it is?

I love my kitchenaid, and if I had never used it, I would still be happy to just let it sit on the worktop.

ilovemykitchenaid - pls could you tell me where you got your ice cream attachment from??? i was contemplating getting one but it seems quite expensive compared to a simple standalone ice cream maker. does it fit on easily? thanks !

I got mine from a local kitchen shop. Very very easy to put together, use and clean after. We go very quickly from 1 pot of M&S creme anglais(sp?) and a 250ml pot of cream mixed together to ice cream in 20/25 mins.

I really love mine people that dont own one think I am really sad, think I will start a kitchenaid club up.

I'm getting a Kenwood Kmix for Xmas (just couldn;t justify the price of the kitchenaid but maybe I'll work up to it in a few years when I've justified the cost of this one) but how do you mash potatoes in it?
