Please, please tell me how to make somehing similar from real ingredients, so my gulit will be eased.

I'm thinking tomatoes and marscapone maybe as a strating position.

And tuna pasta bake is just so wrong Shock

Taffeta · 25/07/2011 22:34

I make virtually everything from scratch, pizza n all that jazz. But

[ssshhhh]

I buy Sainsbo's 3 cheese sauce to make mac cheese. Its one of those 10 minutes to get something in them between swimming and cricket dinners. So shoot me.

Hassled · 25/07/2011 22:36

Tuna melt is wrong on every score. Who puts cheese with tuna? It's the road to madness.
But I'm softening on my previous stern Tuna Pasta Bake stance now I've remembered the Campbell's mushroom soup technique.

Tuppenyrice · 25/07/2011 22:36

Bellavita - my son thinks it's the best meal in the world.
GAVEL as they say round these parts Wink

Tuppenyrice · 25/07/2011 22:37

I'm quite curious about the crisps.....

ChaosTrulyReigns · 25/07/2011 22:42

I never mentioned the Tword.

[shick]

(oh and yes, SNF, I used to like you)

bellavita · 25/07/2011 22:42

Nooooooooo Tuppeny Grin he needs educating!

Valpollicella · 25/07/2011 22:43

Crisps? On pasta?

My Nonna would go mad little Italian on your asses if she heard about that Grin

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 25/07/2011 22:44

You bash the crisps up and mix them with the cheese to go on top. I don't use them when I make it these days, just cheese is nicer.

bellavita · 25/07/2011 22:45

My Nonna would have had a few choice words to say about it too Val had she still been alive today!

Valpollicella · 25/07/2011 22:49

Bella, they are probably both up there, tutting and 'manneggia-ing' away together at this thread Grin

Valpollicella · 25/07/2011 22:51

So, going back to OP, shall we educate Chaos and teach her a nice recipe?

bellavita · 25/07/2011 22:59
Grin

I think a bay leaf, onion, clove etc might be a bit much for Chaos Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 25/07/2011 23:03

d'you like me now?Grin

ChaosTrulyReigns · 25/07/2011 23:06

Is it made from first princples SNF?

Grin

And, bellav, SIOB at you myfriend!!

I have smoked paprika in my cupboard.

OP posts:
SecretNutellaFix · 25/07/2011 23:07

First principles? eh?

bellavita · 25/07/2011 23:08

And what is SIOB?

I think everyone has smoked paprika in their cupboard probably dating back from about 2005.

Valpollicella · 25/07/2011 23:08

Paprika, in pasta sauce....Shock

No cloves either Bella Wink

bellavita · 25/07/2011 23:13

Val, I am thinking along the lines of a béchamel sauce, not that I have used a clove in it, but I could have sworn you put one in the onion whilst it was in the milk?

Annunziata · 25/07/2011 23:15

3 chopped tomatoes, 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, basil, tablespoon full of salt, anything else you want to stick in, and whoosh in a blender.

Heat chopped garlic in olive oil till its brown. Remove garlic. Add whooshed up mix and cook for 20 mins.

(or deCecco's own brand sauce is pretty good)

Valpollicella · 25/07/2011 23:15

Ah, yes, agreed Bella.

Annunziata, a tablespoon of salt? That's a LOT Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 25/07/2011 23:16

See, I have to cheat with the white sauce.
I have only once, by some freak of luck, managed to make an edible white sauce.

bellavita · 25/07/2011 23:17

Surely a teaspoon of salt? Grin

Annunziata · 25/07/2011 23:17

Blush Do you think? I love salty things though.
