Custard creams.

I have a friend who loves strawberry jelly and carnation milk. Same age as me. DH retains a love for butterscotch angel delight.

Anyone else ready to confess?

I was an advertisers dream growing up! If the ad had a song, I probably still know it!

I personally like my waffles with spaghetti hoops and cheese! Nom nom nom! :o

fartmeistergeneral · 31/01/2011 19:58

Smash09 · 01/02/2011 06:42

I was a bit later than the 70s but I still quite like heinz 'macaroni cheese' in a tin... plus angel delight and those syrup sponges that heinz do. My kids like fricking SUSHI... Poor souls.

Wordsonascreen · 01/02/2011 06:46

salad cream sandwiches

Ormirian · 01/02/2011 11:06

Ooh I used to nibble dog biscuits too - bit not Bonios, the ones all differnt colours and different shapes. My friend and I used to try to kid ourselves they tasted of banana, chocolate and strawberry Hmm See what happens when you deprive your children of legitimate snacky junk food? See????

We used to butter white bread cover it in sugar and then shake it off and eat it!

bacon · 01/02/2011 14:47

Artic roll - is it still available? Wow that was a pure luxury that we had on holiday in our caravan. You can see how spoilt we are now and money well that was sooo tight....offal - liver and bacon and lambs stuffed hearts - small portions(we were a very slim and healthy family).

Angel delight..yummmmm - have you seen the ingredients?

LtEveDallas · 01/02/2011 15:13

Oh God, sugar sandwiches. Or banana sandwiches with sugar on top.

Jelly Fluff (jelly with carnation milk whisked in just before it sets)

Mince with a tin of mulligatawny soup mixed in.

Artic roll and Vienetta

Lemon Curd sandwiches.

School puddings - some weird green foamy stuff with a blob of synthetic cream on top or butterscotch tart

(My DD eats Bonio's now....steals them off the dog. Poor bloody dog.)

noddyholder · 01/02/2011 15:18

God lemon curd I love that

teenyweenytadpole · 01/02/2011 15:27

Noddyholder my best friend Carol used to make me sugar sandwiches at her house - I always felt very naughty eating them as my Mum would not have approved, but they were lush!!

noddyholder · 01/02/2011 15:40

We weren't allowed anything fizzy so if I went anywhere with that I couldn't stop drinking it!

Ormirian · 01/02/2011 15:45

We didn't buy fizzy drinks. Too dear. But we had a soda stream!

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 01/02/2011 16:34

really? we had the Lemonade Man doing deliveries - just like the milkman only with a massive lorry. I think we got through about 4 bottles of cherryade each week.

chocoholic · 01/02/2011 16:42

We were another house with sugar sandwiches.
They had to be made with plastic bread though, none of that freshly baked nonsense.

notskiving · 01/02/2011 16:44

my mum used to give me a raw sausage to suck the inside out of if she was cooking some sometimes! 'sucking sausages' were my fave!
(cant imagine people giving them to their kids now - and my kids think it is a vile idea!)

PigTail · 01/02/2011 16:44

I thought it was only my mum who served up jelly and carnation milk. Obviously not!
