Custard creams.

I have a friend who loves strawberry jelly and carnation milk. Same age as me. DH retains a love for butterscotch angel delight.

Anyone else ready to confess?

taffetasplat · 31/01/2011 16:48

M and S blackcurrant sundaes
M and S minced beef in a tin - on toast with a poached egg on top

I think my Mum had M and S shares

GelflinGirl · 31/01/2011 16:50

piccalilli2 you'd love it at ours then, no one in my house likes them so they all get left in the cupbourds, i must have about 20 packs here Grin

teenyweenytadpole · 31/01/2011 16:50

"Raw" jelly. Also raw pasta dipped in marmite. Also raw oxo cubes straight from the box. Wierd, and can be attributed to a bored only child being alone with the house waiting for my Mum to come home from work. (And I wonder why I have food "ishoos"). Actually I am also rather partial to a frozen chicken pie, but I do cook those first!

StickyProblem · 31/01/2011 16:52

Cheese flavour Crispy Pancakes. Not that I buy them, but I do fantasise about them.
Pork pies. Gooseberry fool.

Ormirian · 31/01/2011 16:53

I remember unearthing a little box of dried soup from a cupboard and eating it with a wet finger. Can't remember what it was called but it was very salty and had dried peas.

Arctic roll

Ormirian · 31/01/2011 16:54

Ooh I love gooseberry fool. But gooseberries are so out of fashion I think most people under the age of 30 wouldn't recognise one.

I LOVE gooseberries. my mum and dad used to grow them.

taffetasplat · 31/01/2011 17:01

Orm - there is something of a gooseberry renaissance going on in the gardening world. Or maybe thats just my gardening world - I have bought 5 extra bushes this year. Blush

I will make gooseberry jam and chutney this year, if it kills me.

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/01/2011 17:02

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/01/2011 17:02

gooseberries are wonderful

debka · 31/01/2011 19:04

We have enough gooseberries on our bush to make ONE fool (serves 4 of us). It's the best day of the year. Grin

I won't let my mum near them though- she makes her fools with INSTANT CUSTARD!!!! Shock

Chandon · 31/01/2011 19:10

yay to gooseberries.

I also LOVE prawn cocktail with synthetic cocktail sauce. Such a treat!

And that powder you whip up with milk and it turns into a butterscotch flavoured mousse.

Anonymousbird · 31/01/2011 19:10

Shit, most of these.
Plus Smash ( I didn't know you could "mash" potatoes til I left home Blush)

Cottage Cheese

Big Mac's kept en masse in the deep freeze (more 80s than 70s, but along the same lines...)

Tinned beef ravioli Blush Blush

My mum was so lazy in the damned kitchen!

CuppaTeaJanice · 31/01/2011 19:11

Sherbet fountains, but not the liquorice stick.

Waitrose white finger rolls, from the days before Waitrose was posh. With lemon cheese (not lemon curd).
