And I'm not one of them.

Yesterday I posted a problem that was virtually identical to another posters problem. While she got support and bumlicky pukey love, I got vilified and told I was desperate etc.

I've got the hump.

So I'm offski (until I come back with my tail between my legs.)Or not.

OP posts:

I should have known that bully was behind it.

follyfoot · 26/02/2011 10:39

Bullying of sorts does happen from time to time on MN, thats for sure, but that topic wasnt one of those occasions. When just about everyone posts the same thing, generally its advice worth taking on board.

I've posted (with a name change) about something that was a pretty major issue for me. A few of the responses were harsh, but most of them werent, even though they disagreed with my POV. Have to say, the responses initially made me feel defensive, but once past that, they did make me reappraise the situation and see it from another viewpoint. Worth a try?

rainbowinthesky · 26/02/2011 10:47

To put it into perspective - I have carrots in my fridge that have been there longer than your relationship (plus I wont be letting my dc near them Wink).

FourFortyFour · 26/02/2011 10:48

hymie - which bully?

hymie · 26/02/2011 10:56

FourFortyFour, I won't mention her name because she'll do her usual complaining to the admins. She does it every time, winds people up and when they react she runs to the admins demanding their expulsion.

Lets just say there is a littany as long as your arm.

BuzzLiteBeer · 26/02/2011 11:07

you really need to get over yourself, OP.

And if you are flouncing, hurry up and get on with it!

FourFortyFour · 26/02/2011 11:17

Fair enough, hymie.

GypsyMoth · 26/02/2011 11:36

Did PSM say how she met this man?

belledechocchipcookie · 26/02/2011 11:37

In a nightclub Tiffany. Then she said he invited himself to the park to meet her daughter.

JaxTellersOldLady · 26/02/2011 11:49

There is nothing wrong with wanting to make a go of this relationship, but I think the initial boundaries or lack of were what most people were concerned with.

I am happily married and monogamous and I thought that your new bf meeting your daughter after such a short space of time was a bit soon.

If this works out all well, but what if it doesnt in a few months time? Will you be so quick to introduce another man into your DD life?

It wasnt just your insecurities with this other girl that you were posting about, you were saying he used your internet and other things and this was only 4 weeks into a new relationship, when everything should be perfect, romantic and getting to know each other.

Anyway, you have probably flounced now.

hymie · 26/02/2011 12:04

This is really poor.

People deal with things differently. Loneliness can be devastating to some people while others take it in their stride. The OP was obviously feeling a bit uncomfortable/nervous about the speed at which things were going which meant alarm bells were ringing hence posting here for some opinions. Opinions aren't the same as a right royal bollocking which is what some of you gave her.

You may be strong but not everyone is. Show some respect and take her seriously instead of ganging up like schoolkids.

Shame on you

BuzzLiteBeer · 26/02/2011 12:08

Shame on who? Hmm

You ask for opinions, you get them. If you are feeling like you can't cope with people telling you the truth, you don't post asking for advice.

belledechocchipcookie · 26/02/2011 12:08

hymie, do a search on the OP and see for yourself how many times she's started threads about wanting a bloke. People have given her support and advice over and over again. You have no right to say that to the people who have spent a lot of time giving her advice. Hmm

hymie · 26/02/2011 12:09

LoL @ you thinking your opinions are the truth

You summed you and your ilk up perfectly. Arrogance personified.

hymie · 26/02/2011 12:10

Ahh....wanting a bloke

'nuff said, cardinal sin...hang her from the nearest lampost

honestly......

FourFortyFour · 26/02/2011 12:14

BLB - you are right. I have posted for advice and not liked what I was hearing. Doesn't mean it was wrong though.

BuzzLiteBeer · 26/02/2011 12:21

all opinions are someones truth. Hmm

You seem to be projecting a lot onto this, hymie, got problems of your own?

belledechocchipcookie · 26/02/2011 12:25

I can't see how 99% of posters who have all said the same thing can be wrong. I agree with Buzz, if you want some help with something then start a new thread.

EdgarAleNPie · 26/02/2011 12:39

i think some of the posts on that thread were needlessly harsh.

but the gist was right - too much too soon.

you can either think 'oh well, ill agree to disagree screw you lot' or you can listen. up to you. getting upset about it...

ask yourself why.

i'd rather you stuck around for your contribution to the board in general.

fangbanger · 26/02/2011 12:43

if the Op were true then that you are right to be upset.

but it seems that you have posted a different scenario and when you got replies you didn't like you got the hump.

a bit different to people responding differently purely due to your name

She was in love with someone else only 6 weeks ago?? Now this.......her poor dd!!

lysithia · 26/02/2011 20:13

poshsinglemum - I read that thread and was disgusted at the way some of the posters spoke to you.

For those of you who think it is okay to speak to someone in that manner, whatever the circumstances, go and pick on someone less vulnerable

Then to come here and keep hounding the poster earwicga? I'm sure you made your point on the original thread so why don't you give up and leave it?

PSM I don't know you or your history so I can't really offer advice but i'm sure some kind and sound advice was offered if that is what you were wanting.

lysithia · 26/02/2011 20:24

fourfortyfour I think there are a few of those on here Hmm

PSM unfortunately posters like you are fodder for some of the arses on here, but I am sure some were giving genuine advice
