Saw it last night... haven't laughed so much in ages... Pierce Brosnan is either very brave or completely deluded!

I want to go back to Greece now

yeah think the time you choose to see it would depend how much you enjoy it. I went Fri night and a few people had been in the bar for drinks before hand so them up singing/dancing added to the film!
It's not a great story line so think if dc's like the music then they would enjoy it.

I saw this on the weekend and LOVED it.

Despite Pierce's awful singing voice and the thin story line...it was such a great feel good movie. I can't wait to get it on DVD.

I also came away feeling that everyone had just had such a fun time making the movie - it really showed how much they enjoyed themselves.

It definitely made me wish for another Greek holiday - this time with a huge group of good friends

Dont pay any attention what so ever to the write ups in the press.

This is a brilliantly funny and enjoyble film so go and see it! I think film critics get soooo up themselves sometimes. I read one one review that slated it for being cheesy. wtf?

Brosnan/Firth in spangles jumpsuits singing Abba Songs OF COURSE ITS CHEESY!!!!!!!

I tokk my daughetrs to see it, the cinema was packed and everyone was tapping their feet. Really great film.

lol yes there was a lot of jumping-meryl leaping about in her dungarees was all a bit too much for me

have to say though I was fully prepared to hate it (was away for the weekend with some friends who wanted to see it) and cringed my way through the first 20 mins or so I actually really enjoyed it in the end

and Slipping through my fingers made me blub too

can't understand why anyone fancies Colin Firth though

Loved it, loved it, loved it. I haven't seen the musical...you can't recreate those amazing Greek views and the old Greek women suddenly bursting into Abba!!

Julie Walters was totally fab as usual.

And it's so NOT a chick flick. Dh was DEVASTATED he could not come with me - and I was sad too - spent the whole time thinking how he would've loved it.

I'm off to see it tonight. Good to read everyones views... really looking forward to it. Could do with a lift and feel good movie

"...each time, the beginning of an Abba song triggered in me a Pavlovian stab of pleasure, cancelled after a millionth of a second by a backwash of rage that this soulless panto has done nothing to earn or even understand the good feeling."

, ,

I'm so glad I am not paid good money to be pretentious and cynical!!!

This is a FAB film! Embrace it for what it is - cheesefest is spot on.

It really doesn't matter that the singing isn't the best - I thought the way the songs suddenly started was hilarious. I found myself trying to guess how they would incorporate the next one and which it would be.

Still smiling now... but I SOOOO want to go and see it again!

I'm not convinced! OH & DD want to go .. strange as OH normally refuses to go to anything remotely girly

Would rather go to see Batman me thinks, but the majority will probably win.

Today dd age 3 sat all the way through (on my lap as she is too diddy to keep the flipping seat down)
She loved it and hasn't stopped singing "money, money, money" ever since.

I thought it was great, really good fun!
I took dd and mil....both were silent for 2 hours!

Saw this on Friday night I loved it!

Total cheese on a stick but such a happy, feel good film. Gorgeous Greece backdrop....Ms Streep can hold a cord and have to agree....Pierce is great eye candy [as is Colin Firth] but making him sing was wrong on soooo many levels LOL!

Drove home with a carful of my girlfriends tryingto singing ABBA
