You need to view it as a feel good laugh. Not take it too seriously.

ANd Yes - Buns of Steel.

Stay right to the end - a little bit after movie finishes.

The audience clapped at the end of ours too - can't remember the last time I was at the cinema and that happened.

I want the DVD and the CD.

Pierce Brosnan with no shirt oneLieIn

I went last night and really enjoyed it.

This is so far from the usual film I'd see, I hate chick fliks but I thought thsi was great.

I had to fight the urge to sing out loud a quite few times

What I don't get is all you saying its hilarious and luaghing so much.....I think this is where my anti chick flik-ness comes into play because although some bits were enough to make me chuckle I didn't have any side splitting moments.

Great film though.

Oh, I want to see this too. We have to wait for SIL to have her baby though as she wants to come too.

Sounds great - would it be OK for dancing/singing mad DD aged 6?

Went last night. Not as good as the live show but great fun all the same. My sides are a bit sore this morning.
Pierce B - can't sing but Hot, Hot, HOT!
Meryl Streep - fab voice.

No swearing, quite saucy in places with lots of snogging and some groping but no actual sex. Bit too full-on for my 5yo though, so I won't be taking her even though she loves the music.

We had Mamma Mia night tonight - went to see it with in-laws and kids ( so from 71 down to 4). Dd3 (4) loved it and hardly wriggled! I cried my way through it - always do that - it was lovely! Came back to Greek food and (non-Greek) wine with Abba playing in the background. Also just booked a week in Greece at end of Aug - pre the film we'd planned on a week camping in Holland. Made me sad because I'm not Meryl Streep, but I plan to start tomorrow.....

saw it last night. laughed and laughed and laughed. i'm afraid to say that i was laughing at them quite a lot, as well as at the funny bits. Pierce Brosnan is so funny because he really cannot sing. And the storyline is very clunky. The scenery is great. Meryl isn't bad, and in places her voice was good. Colin Firth not as lovely as normal, imo.
Took me a while to get into it, because i was just thinking things like why is Pierce Brosnan playing an American man but has a British accent? Why doesn't anyone speak Greek? Etc.

I saw it last night as well; the audience clapped and a load of girls got up and started dancing all down the aisles and spent a good 10 minutes dancing down in front of the screen. It was cringy but funny .

It was funny that pierce was a naff singer but bless him he tried - meryl is a super star obviously and i just love julie walters!

I just went to the cinama to see this and it was sold out Don't think I'll be able to see it at the cinema now - I'm busy the next 2 wednesdays (orange wednesday BOGOF [cheapskate]) and our cinema never has things on for very long. Sounds good though so I'll look forward to the dvd release.

We took dd and her friend last night 8 years old to see it, were a bit worried we might get questions about the logistics of 3 Dads but all that went over their heads and they thought it was brill so did we .

Saw this tonight, loved it and so did dd. So camp and funny and gorgeous, and the total clunkiness was all part of the fun.

They all looked like they were having such a laugh making it, and the very end bit was brilliant.

Considering whether to see this or not.

I was offered tickets to the Uk premiere of it, red carpet, recpetion, the lot - but we couldn't make it Still not quite gotten over that yet!

So, is it worth it or not? And what about for children? 6y DD likes he songs - but would she be bored during the move? \Is it one just for me and DH?

Hulababy - there isn't much dialogue before another song starts up to be honest. Or at least not too much of a gap between songs that my dd got bored. She's 7 and was mesmorised for the whole film.

If you go I would recommend some alcohol beforehand.

I was supposed to be going tonight with some girlies, but long story dh is working and couldn't get a babysitter. So dh agreed to take me this afternoon.

Mid-afternoon, in a quiet cinema, sober, it was a bit grim tbh.
