Yes, we have a few from before they were 'digitally remastered' and re-released.

ObliviousCoalmine · 07/09/2025 19:09

Oh it’s YOU again with your intermittent SHOUTING.

cobrakaieaglefang · 07/09/2025 19:13

Today the thunderstorm blew our router out. No Internet, no tv as its through the Internet. Got our old tv out and put dvds on.
Also watch dvds in our caravan.

LuckysDadsHat · 07/09/2025 19:24

I am moving back to dvds after finding out that streaming services where you buy or rent the film isnt actually you getting that film for life. Such as amazon prime, you buy a film but if that film is removed from that streaming service you then lose it! I never realised this, so have made an effort to buy some films (especially ones the kids want) on dvd now.

GiraffesAtThePark · 07/09/2025 19:46

This thread has made me realise the benefits to dvds 😂

SprayWhiteDung · 07/09/2025 20:07

You could say the same about music: why would you listen to the same songs multiple times?

How bizarre to even care about something like this. If you personally like to only ever watch a film once, nobody is forcing you to watch it any more than that!

I can't understand why anybody would choose to eat cockles - they look like crusty bogies to me - but obviously people do like to eat them, and nobody is forcing me to eat them; so who on earth cares?!

tartanhaggis7 · 08/09/2025 07:36

yeah and your USUAL contribution to the debate !!!! a BIG fat ZEEEEROOOO!!!!😂

I don't understand, it takes so much effort to use CAPS on a phone. OR ARE you on a KeYBoarD

Dogosaurus · 08/09/2025 07:47

I could say, why does anyone, including you, buy dvds, even to watch once, get with the times and stream everything! I wouldn’t say that seriously though, because I understand everyone is different and it has no bearing on my life whether others have a room filled with dvds or never watch films at all. People are different and do things their way for their own reasons, just like you do. Why do you care?

Was OP a fan of the cartoon 2 Stupid Dogs back in the day? The random capitalised words reminds me of the Little Red Riding Hood character, who would randomly shout one word mid-sentence. One of my friends in primary school and I would speak like it to wind another friend and our teacher up. Short clip here :

There are so many films not available on streaming services.

Coffeeishot · 08/09/2025 12:34

Re watching things can be comforting and enjoyable I've seen lots of things upteen times, and occasionally ill stick a dvd on, how many times have you watched your Les mis dvd ?

Coffeeishot · 08/09/2025 12:37

We certainly have fewer DVDs than we used to have once the dc moved out they took.some got rid of some, but we still have our favourites, Dh has a comics tour DVDs he still watches on a Saturday night if there is nothing on,

Turtlebed · 08/09/2025 13:15

Life is short and to be enjoyed, if you enjoy rewatching films, which I often do, who are you to say that it's a waste of time.

tartanhaggis7 · 08/09/2025 19:15

I am not sure why you are shouting or emphasising im well aware Les mis is a musical there is no difference. In enjoying a musical on dvd format to watching a film over and over.

Yes people are just giving a counter opinion as to why people might like collecting, films and considering the person was elderly maybe that was films over the years that they liked !

I like rewatching films I’ve seen a number of times before. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Star Wars for example.

hexsnidgett · 08/09/2025 19:46

Your writing style is amusing.
I don't agree with your opinion, it's great to re-watch films, in fact it's a long time since I saw a new one that was any good.Sad

zaazaazoom · 08/09/2025 19:49

Sorry I can't actually read your posts without wondering what made you decide to capitalise random words. Have you always done it? Do you do it at work? In texts? If so do people pull you up on it?

My parents buy DVDs because they spend months abroad with no streaming services.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 08/09/2025 19:51

Not all my dvds are on streaming services. I don't live in the UK..
