Anyone seen it? I saw it tonight. Not exactly enjoyable, but well acted and filmed.
But intensely frustrating to spend the film watching people behaving so stupidly.

But then, without that, there wouldn't be a film.

I just watched this last night after looking forward to it for a very long time. Sublime film but I was expecting an "In Bruges" vibe and wasn't prepared for the tale to play out the way it did at all. Instead it reminded me of "Beaches" where CC rails at Hillary that she took her friendship away without discussing it with her. My heart broke more and more for Pádraic and I'm glad I didn't watch this when I was feeling any sort of emotional vulnerability myself. Scenery so breath taking that I wanted to jump into the TV. It's one that will stay with me but it will be a while until I give it a re-watch.

Does the amputation reflect the current trend towards unnecessary amputations and this cry for artsy uniqueness that is ultimately self sabotage and the manifestation of a mental health crisis. B Gleesons character wants to be remembered for being a great musicuan, but instead mames himself, the ultimate narcissistic martyr. He also aligns himself with the abusive police to protect himself from the pleas from Colin Farrell s character.

He aligns himself with a scumbag as a wall against the reality of his everyday life.

I must watch it again.
