On holiday run out of things to watch?

OP posts:
Supersimkin2 · 08/08/2021 22:00

Yes.

ThreeWitches · 08/08/2021 22:08

@BeeDavis

Ive been watching horror films since before that age, I love them though and not easily scared 🤷🏻‍♀️
Same here. And I most definitely wasn't 'socialised' to say I liked them Grin
LivingDeadGirlUK · 08/08/2021 22:11

Its quite a dull film for most of it, but the last scene makes up.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 08/08/2021 22:18

Bloody hell, of course it is!! It's too scary for me and I'm nearly 40!!!

Iggly · 08/08/2021 22:20

It depends - but I watched it at 19 and shat myself for weeks after

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 08/08/2021 22:23

Ps and those posters who have said it's not gory or graphic so can't be scary are talking nonsense. Its power is in not showing much and leaving your absolutely petrified imagination to piece things together in a way that will make your child terrified of woods and dark spaces forever. And then they will Google the shit out of it and no doubt find out about lots of other horrifying things that happen in woodlands. Like that godawful forest story on here that terrifies me still.
Honestly, your child will thank you for not showing it to them once they watch it when they are 40 and nearly wee with terror like I did Blush

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 08/08/2021 22:24

Yes @Iggly - my reaction exactly!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/08/2021 22:25

You let an 11 year old watch it? I'm horrified.

SmallChairs · 08/08/2021 22:27

Most recent posters, the OP says she did watch it with her 11year old…

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 08/08/2021 22:30

@SmallChairs- what is the deed done? Sorry for missing that. Fgs, had the OP really run out of things to watch, though? What about the Olympics closing ceremony- that was on and is actually a nice positive thing to watch.

I've scared myself about blair witch all over again now - I'm going to have to check I've locked all the doors Grin

That’s terrible.

As a kid I was “allowed” to watch horror - I really was not old enough to make that call and I was very very anxious. Used to struggle at night time for years.

Why are people in such a rush to “grow” their kids up????

tinkerbellvspredator · 08/08/2021 22:38

I watched it at 19 and spent a year gibbering whenever I was out in the dark on my own

Doyoumind · 08/08/2021 22:41

Yes. It scared the shit out of me in my 20s when it came out and I had been a big horror fan. It put me off horror. I could cope when horror meant gore. I could not cope with creepy AF.

Bumpsadaisie · 08/08/2021 22:45

Hell yes.

Bumpsadaisie · 08/08/2021 22:46

It's not gory, it is creepy and scary as hell!

allycat4 · 08/08/2021 22:47

When you see him standing in the corner aaaargggjhh. Don't let your kid watch it. Why are you asking???

Doyoumind · 08/08/2021 22:47

Just seen you watched it. Do not watch The Exorcist. That is also scary. It was actually banned (from video, not cinema) until about 20 years ago.

Gigia · 08/08/2021 22:49

Literally nothing happens. I am easily scared but was just bored watching this.

CampAshpit · 08/08/2021 23:09

Like that godawful forest story on here that terrifies me still.

Ooh do you remember what the thread was called?

Ridiculousradish · 08/08/2021 23:14

Jesus Christ I cannot believe you let your 11 year old watch that. Fuck me.
Oh and it rains in Cornwall a lot, especially in August.

I have an 11 year old who begs me to watch this sort of stuff. Amazingly I can be arsed to parent her and say no.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 08/08/2021 23:30

The only thing I found scary was the ending really. I've been watching scary films since about that age though and love them
