Really enjoyed this. Good story, entertaining, warm, funny.

Stunning artwork, amazing. Worth seeing for that alone.

Music good, works well, but not as good as the original.

Went with four girls aged 8-12 who all loved it too.

Also pleased to see role modelling of Kristof (?) and positive boyfriend behaviour, eg after being left behind and rescuing Anna says “What do you need?”, then “you got it”.

I agree with everything you said, I went with older teen dc.

Redshoeblueshoe · 22/11/2019 23:28

A 4 year old is pestering me to go, do you think she will enjoy it ?
this maybe a reverse Blush

AutumnRose1 · 22/11/2019 23:30

An 81 year old is asking me when it’s likely to be on Sky Movies. I fear she might have to wait a while!

Owlettele · 22/11/2019 23:33

Thought all of the same things OP. Everything a Disney movie should be. I was not disappointed. If anything pleasantly surprised. Went with my 5 year old and she loved it. Made her laugh , made her cry and had her in awe. It was a great evening. I told her about watching Frozen when she was in my tummy and here she is at the cinema like a big girl watching number 2. It was great and I also loved the positive behaviour from Kristoff. " That's ok, my love isn't fragile!" 😍😍

DilysMoon · 22/11/2019 23:39

My DD 5 isn't keen, the trailer has put her off, she thinks it looks scary. She enjoyed the original but I'm wondering if this one is pitched at a slightly older audience?

Muddlingalongalone · 23/11/2019 03:00

Really enjoyed it as did dd1 who is 8.
Dd2 wasn't 100% convinced - found it funny, was swaying along to the music but thought it was a little bit scary.

Loopytiles · 23/11/2019 06:17

Yay, replies!

dilys, IMO this one is no more scary than the first one. The Hans being a baddie reveal and threat from him was the scariest thing in either film IMO!

Grin redshoeblue, no need for shame! The mums had to persuade our DC too , expect now friends etc hearing about it will jump on the bandwagon!

autumnrose My DM is disabled and can’t attend the cinema, she often buys streamed films or even the odd DVD. Don’t get the full effect of the art with films like this though, unfortunately.

Loved it. I liked the fact the Elsa came into her own and the ending was fantastic.

The bit with Olaf recapping film 1 was amazing and had me laughing.

icecreamsundae32 · 23/11/2019 08:12

I want to see it, my 3yo enjoyed the first one and has sat through other films at cinema but worried as frozen 2 looks a bit darker/scarier and won't hold her interest?

Is it suitable for a toddler?

AutumnRose1 · 23/11/2019 11:12

Loopy that’s okay, she enjoyed Frozen on her TV as well.
Tbh we can make it to the cinema but it’s a huge faff and I know when she asks me “when will it be on TV” she means “will I still be alive or should we go to the cinema”?

Tbh if it’s darker, my mum won’t like it as much either Grin

sauchiehall · 23/11/2019 11:22

@icecreamsundae32 I took my 2.5 year old yesterday and she sat and watched the full film. She loves the first film but wouldn't usually sit that long but she seemed to love it!

icecreamsundae32 · 23/11/2019 12:12

Thank you @sauchiehall I was thinking maybe it's more me wanting to go than her at this age but as all the merchandise is in every shop at mo she's always saying "Elsa" so maybe she'll be ok!

sauchiehall · 23/11/2019 12:22

@icecreamsundae32 I'm sure she will love it! My daughter took her dolls with her and then keeps saying she saw new Anna and Elsa so she definitely enjoyed it! And I enjoyed it too haha!

Loopytiles · 23/11/2019 12:49

It’s not darker than the first one, less dark.

EstebanTheMagnificent · 23/11/2019 18:15

It’s twenty minutes too long and there was a noticeable lull where the small children in the cinema became very restless. The plot is more complicated and baggier than the first film.

Agree that it looks incredible. The songs are fab and the Peter Cetera style 80s music video in the middle is worth the ticket price alone.

Juicyfrooty · 23/11/2019 18:19

Not a patch on the first one IMO.

icecreamsundae32 · 23/11/2019 19:05

@EstebanTheMagnificent that's what I was worried about length and more complicated plot. I presumed because it's 5 years after the first film they've aimed it at slightly older children!

unicorncupcake · 23/11/2019 19:10

Saw it today and loved it! I just really like the characters and love the relationships between them. I thought the story was strong enough for a sequel, and I actually thought it scarier than the first. The bit with her trying to get into the sea was really scary!

katienana · 23/11/2019 19:13

I loved that song Lost In The Woods. Took my two boys aged 7 and 3 and they both loved it. Littlest one found Olaf hilarious and eldest really liked the story and animation. I thought the animation was stunning, loved the water/ice horse in particular.

ClownsandCowboys · 23/11/2019 19:39

Took ASD dd (7) to see it today. She loved it and it wasn't an autism friendly screening. She laughed a lot! I thought it was pretty good actually, I loved the fact that the women save the day.

TigerJoy · 23/11/2019 22:32

I loved it. Plot didn't make sense to the point that my 9 year old niece was quizzing me about it after (why is the parent's ship there? How did her mother's voice get there?) I had no answers. But it was fun

Songs not a patch on the first one but the main one is great. Again, way too hard for small children to sing 🙄

Olaf as a pseudo-philsopher was hilarious! Also loved the into the woods song - definitely one for the parents - terrible song but so so funny.

Wish there had been one or two more strong songs though. Last time we had love is an open door and for the first time as well as let it go - nothing like that this time.

thr33andme · 24/11/2019 01:49

Saw it twice in 12 hours. It is nothing short of magical.

Can't believe Disney are pushing Into The Unknown as their main single to rival Let It Go. It's quite clearly Show Yourself. The entire scene was absolutely incredible. The animators did such an amazing job.

thr33andme · 24/11/2019 01:52

As for more songs, check out the outtakes on the official soundtrack. Songs like Home and Get This Right are nice but you can definitely tell where the film was cut for time.

Namelessinseattle · 24/11/2019 02:11

I LOVED that kristoff asked what do you need when he rescued her, I noticed that too. I loved the kristoff song and the Olaf Frozen recap.
At one stage I thought they had included live action scenes it was so real
