Anyone seen this or planning to ?
The reviews are "mixed" to say the least .

But the trailers look ok ( though usually all the good bits are in the trailer and the film is just padding)

There's a twist ...........no spoilers !

Ummm
I’ve just seen it.
Absolutely shocking.

funmummy48 · 16/11/2019 18:25

We went last night and walked out after the first hour. Friends of mine saw it today and loved it. 😳

tryingtocatchthewind · 16/11/2019 18:41

I saw it last night, wasn’t fussed. No better than a channel 5 afternoon film just happens to have famous folks in it. That said I do love a channel 5 film I just don’t want to pay cinema price for it

Etinox · 16/11/2019 19:33

@funmummy48
I would definitely have walked out but my ticket was only a fiver and DD and I were enjoying it in on OMG this is literally the worse thing I’ve ever seen.
However, overall I really enjoyed it. Can I PM you?

BennyTheBall · 16/11/2019 19:35

Haven't seen it but my in-laws have. They said it was excruciatingly bad and they love any old shite.

misspiggy19 · 16/11/2019 19:36

Trailer looks crap. I’m not going to bother

Roselilly36 · 16/11/2019 19:37

I saw it today with a friend of mine, we both absolutely loved it.

SavageBeauty73 · 16/11/2019 20:37

Just saw it with my teenage daughter. We loved it. The whole cinema was laughing.

My daughter had major heart surgery 2 years ago so really felt her feelings ❤️

The soundtrack is amazing but I'm a massive George Michael fan.

playftseforme · 16/11/2019 20:41

Loved it. The script was a bit clunky to begin with, and the acting is overdone, but it’s a great story.

ALadyofLetters · 16/11/2019 20:46

It’s not the most amazing film I’ve ever seen but it’s engaging and enjoyable. It’s less irritating than Love Actually.

The twist annoyed me but as we can’t discuss it without ruining it for anyone who hasn’t seen it, I’ll keep my gob shut Grin

Simkin · 16/11/2019 20:49

I loved it! I wasn't expecting to because the reviews were so bad but I really did. The twist is fine but the overarching message about kindness and multiculturalism is bloody wonderful. And loads of great female characters too.

babygrootandstarlord · 16/11/2019 20:54

We went earlier this week and three of us wanted to walk out after about 30 minutes. One of the group liked it. I have never been so bored!!! We stayed to the end but I thought it was bad bad bad.

Usingmyindoorvoice · 17/11/2019 17:30

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. It’s a love affair with London and having not read or heard anything about it was moved by the storyline.
This film will be a guilty pleasure
It is very ‘Christmassy’ too

Whistle73 · 17/11/2019 22:59

Honestly it's terrible. I guessed the twist after half an hour and then cringed through the rest of it. The script is embarrassingly try-hard funny and Emilia Clarke is really unlikeable as the main character.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 17/11/2019 23:05

I really liked it, saw it on Friday, it's Christmassy. I love cheesy Christmas films so it was right up my street.

AShaveAndAHarecutHalfPrice · 19/11/2019 22:47

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz would sum in up.

Very twee, especially the male lead character and the twist.

It had potential, too, but didn’t live up to it at all.

5/10, somewhat lacking.

EleanorLavish · 20/11/2019 17:08

We saw a clip on G Norton and it was excruciatingly bad, we thought it was a joke!

LadyPeterWimsey · 20/11/2019 17:15

Seriously, it's so bad. Fortunately we had a free ticket or I would have been very irritated at wasting my money.

Good review here: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2019/nov/06/last-christmas-review-emma-thompson-emilia-clarke?CMP=ShareiOSAppp_Other

Mitsouko67 · 21/11/2019 00:14

Loved it! So Christmassy, so cute and feelgood. Loved London with all the lights. Fab.

Pipandmum · 21/11/2019 00:15

The ads look awful but I hear it's good.

RainbowMum11 · 21/11/2019 00:37

Just watched it - didn't know what to expect but it wasn't that, going again in a couple of weeks, it was good, and the humour was great too!

IdleBet · 24/11/2019 23:07

It was so predictable, really bad.

I was distracted by Emelia's eyebrows. Fascinating.
