This threads probably been done before..
But anyway..
what's your all time favourite film? Something that you would go back and watch again? Even if it's a strange one. My all time favourite is Shawshank redemption.. I know, I know! I've been asked why because everyone else seems to think it's boring but I honestly love it. I'm going on maternity leave soon and know I'll end up wanting to watch films when I'm bored. Hopefully I can look at this thread when I'm struggling for a film to watch! I'll take your word for it that it's a good film!

Absolutely love "The Shawshank Redemption." I've seen it a dozen times but I always, always cry at the end.

Others include:

The Green Mile
A River Runs Through It
A League of Their Own
Contact - just saw this with my sons and they loved it.
Enemy of the State
The Shining

And when I just want to laugh and don't feel like taking anything seriously:

We're the Millers
Sixteen Candles

On a somber note, Schindler's List is an excellent movie and, though it's hard to say one can "enjoy" watching it because of its subject matter and the sheer brutality of some of the scenes, it's a powerful film that everyone should see at least once.

SnowsInWater · 03/03/2020 02:46

Apocalypse Now
Betty Blue
Kiss of the Spiderwoman

Dr Zhivago. I've seen it masses of times, right back to when it was first released and never tire of its beauty and power and heartbreak.
Billy Elliot. Just thinking about Adam wotsisname doing that leap into Swan Lake makes me well up.
The Sound of Music.
Brief Encounter, as much for the Rachmaninov as anything.
The Usual Suspects, but it only works once.
Lately I loved Parasite - it's got to be in the top 10.

BurtonHouse · 15/03/2020 19:09

Damn, I forgot Casablanca.
