I have to say, I wish I'd never watched The Shining (at a sleepover when I was 14). It scared the pants off me!

Anyone else?

Last House on the Left is the film I've been trying to remember for the past two days. Horrible.

UsernamesAreAPainInTheBalls · 29/08/2016 18:07

Laiste ugh I know the part you mean I've never read the book but I have an awful tendency to read parts of books that freak me out/upset me/sicken me more times than necessary and I'm sorry then that I did 😩

Jonsnowsghost · 29/08/2016 18:32

Seasidesally - The Loved Ones! I enjoyed that Grin

Scarred my ex for life by getting him to watch Eden lake. I can deal with most horrors fine though although when I was 15 and went to see The Ring it did put me off for a while!

Hated Amelie, don't get what all the fuss is about, she just annoyed me! Fox and the hound I can't watch without bawling my eyes out

Helloooooooo · 29/08/2016 18:40

Every time I enter a car wash I think of Christine, the haunted car.

Helloooooooo · 29/08/2016 18:43

I love French films but Amelie passed me by.

Worst film ever - probably Meet the Fockers which I watched with a friend out of politeness as she thought it was hilarious.

HappyAxolotl · 29/08/2016 18:50

Paranormal Activity. SPOILER ALERT: It's 2 hours of grainy shots of blankets flying off of beds. While a woman screams hysterically and a man doesn't seem remotely bothered.

I watched the next two PA films to see if the series got any better. No, they are a further 4 wasted hours of gravity-defying blankets, thick man and screamy woman. (To be truthful I was praying for their deaths about 5 mins into PA1.)

War Of The Worlds with that brat who again screamed without needing to inhale for the duration of the film. I'd have fed her to the aliens myself. I subjected my eardrums to her until the end waiting for "The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one" AND THE SONG IS NOT IN THE FILM!!!!!

The Thunderbirds Movie was like walking round Wigan with a nail in your shoe.

I love 'Jaws' but I regret seeing it when I was 7 - I was too scared to bath, swim or flush the toilet...and the head with the eye out popping out of the boat hull, that featured in nightmares for weeks! I cried at bedtime for about 3 months in case I saw a triangular-shaped 'fin' in the darkness...my parents thought I had gone mad because I was too scared to tell them what I was crying about in case saying the word 'shark' made one appear!

Reindeerlily · 29/08/2016 21:11

Human centipede. Disturbed me no end.

LollipopViolet · 29/08/2016 21:17

Themroc I had to watch it at college, and I was just left bewildered and confused.

Requiem for a Dream, I left the room before the end (college again, and a kind tutor explaining there was a particularly nasty scene coming up, and offering anyone who wanted it, the chance to leave the room).

Notfastjustfurious · 29/08/2016 21:24

Thanks to this thread I read the wiki write up of A Serbian Tale and that is the most disturbing thing I will ever not watch. Absolutely horrific and really really should not have been made. If you haven't read it just don't sick sick sick.

MrsJayy · 29/08/2016 21:34

MrsJayy · 29/08/2016 21:36

Anchorman 2

user1471461752 · 29/08/2016 21:45

I can't remember the name of it. Have only read the first page of this thread and thought it may have been hostel but had a Google and I don't think it was.

It was about a married couple that stop at a hotel unexpectedly for a night. When they get in they watch some videos that are provided and realise that it's of people being killed in their hotel room. The killers them come in and try and get them. I can't really remember the ending (maybe I didn't finish watching it) does anyone know what the name of the film was?

carlyj193 · 29/08/2016 21:50

Wolf creek had me in tears

OldGuard · 29/08/2016 21:50

Clockwork Orange

To this day, it disturbs me - I saw it in my early 20s at the cinema when the ban was lifted and I wished I never seen it - ever -

AndYourBirdCanSing · 29/08/2016 21:51

That's Vacancy user. Very disturbing!

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer · 29/08/2016 21:57

Teeth. What the hell was that and why the hell did I continue watching it to the end?

Hostel. It creeped me out.

The Grudge. I can't even remember what it was about but I do remember my older cousin creeping up to my bedroom window and pressing his face on it while I watched, aged 13. I thank my best friend at the time for her discretion - no one at school had to know that I peed my pants!

expatinscotland · 29/08/2016 21:57

Sinister

Lostmyemailaddress · 29/08/2016 22:00

Not a horror but taming Andrew is the only film I have seen that I would never ever watch again. It is the only film to ever make me properly cry and I was tearful for weeks afterwards.
