I am not a big fan of horror films but I can tolerate them with a pillow and someone to hide behind.
I have a few movies I seriously cannot bring myself to even view the trailer of for fear of being scarred for life.
They are in no particular order.
Human Centipede
The shining
And scarface.

What about you guys?

Same all the way through then? Awful.

ijustwannadance · 31/05/2016 11:44

Yeh, was just so bloody depressing. Haunted me for ages.

lljkk · 31/05/2016 11:49

Anything scary, sad, or involving harm to children. I am 100% wimp.

I can only watch woman-in-skimpy-clothes men strutting their stuff movies if I take the piss out of them constantly all the way thru.

Lovefromhull · 31/05/2016 12:07

Wizard of oz- can't watch because of the witch. And the flying monkeys.

LurcioAgain · 31/05/2016 12:15

Horror movies as a genre.

The last king of Scotland - yes, it's brilliant film, Forest Whitaker is immense as Amin, but the ending... just never again.

OnceMoreIntoTheBleach · 31/05/2016 12:19

Marley & me. Want to but can't face it.

I've watched all the saw movies and hostel though since having dcs those types of films are not welcome in my house Grin

midsomermurderess · 01/06/2016 14:17

The Exorcist, generally anything to do with possession actually, It freaks me out.

guitarguy2112 · 02/06/2016 19:55

TheoriginalLEM I've only seen two films in that list (The Godfather and Full Metal Jacket) but despite how strong the violence was in both films, I wouldn't call it excessive.

I generally don't mind strong violence as long as it's relevant to the plot (which it especially is in war films such as FMJ); if a film has a ton of violence and sex but no engaging story then it just bores me and I'll switch it off.

Another thing I can't bring myself to handle are broken bones; blood and guts and fine by me but as soon as a bone breaks I go into panic mode. Not sure why though Confused

TheoriginalLEM · 02/06/2016 23:17

guitarguy - its not the excess in those particular folms that upsets me . Rather the personal aspect of it. its like i can empathise too much. slasher movieslike you say are just boring but these both really affected me.

Northernlurker · 02/06/2016 23:45

Sophie's choice. The thought makes me feel ill tbh

Fulltimemummy85 · 05/06/2016 19:45

Human centipede absolutely disgusting. Apparently it's not scientifically possible though phew.

Friday 13th had to turn it off !

kelda · 05/06/2016 19:49

50 Shades. Also can't read the books.

Tryingtobegood10 · 05/06/2016 19:49

It's not a horror as I don't really scare easily but there is a episode of Dr who with some hideous scarecrow creatures that I have to watch through my fingers lol
Oh and "the notebook" actually walked out if the cinema it was just the worst film i'v ever seen :) think that says quite a lot about me lol

Polska03 · 05/06/2016 19:52

I got 3 quarters of the way through 12 Years A Slave last night before I stormed out of the living room Blush It was farrrr to violent and cruel! I can't watch anything violent but strangely love horror films......

Tryingtobegood10 · 05/06/2016 19:54

Oh actually a film that was deeply upsetting to me and I don't think I could watch again (even though it was really incredible!!!!!) Dead man's shoes!!! The bit where they Forse the mentally handicap guy to take drugs is horrific!!!!

NickAngel · 05/06/2016 19:54

Marley and me.

Dogolphin · 05/06/2016 19:54

Titanic

imwithspud · 05/06/2016 19:54

Fast Times at Ridgemont High, early 80's 'coming of age' type film. It's not scary or gorey but it was a bit grim, and not a very good film in general. I got as far as the soft core porn scene of the 26 year old and a girl he believed to be 19 (she was actually 15). Even though I knew both actors were over 18 the scene made for uncomfortable watching, had turn it off soon after that.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 05/06/2016 19:54

50 Shades of Grey. Downloaded a sample to my kindle to see what all the fuss was about when the book came out; couldn't work out what all the fuss was about. No interest at all.

Iknownuffink · 05/06/2016 19:56

Sophie's Choice tried to watch it and ended up in floods of tears.
Most of those mentioned above I wouldn't even consider watching.

Cleo1303 · 05/06/2016 19:56

Straw Dogs
Cross of Iron

and, not a horror but possibly the most depressing film of all time, "Lenny" about the "comedian" Lenny Bruce and starring Dustin Hoffman. If you were thinking of jumping off a 20-storey building and watched this one you'd jump.

Cleo1303 · 05/06/2016 19:57

Haven't seen the first two but saw the third. Never again.

Blue Velvet really upsets me, and i couldn't watch Amores Perros. I used to love horror films but can't watch them any more - i just don't want them in my head.

Autumnchill · 05/06/2016 20:03

Reservoir Dogs
Trainspotting
