Halloween always freaks me out but the one with that makes me jump the most is insidious Grin

I've seen Annabelle and really can't understand what the fuss was? Anyone else feel it was a major let down?

OP posts:

Occlus..however you spell it.me and my friends tried to stretch a cardigan between 3 of us lol.

Paranormal activity- the first 2 then got daft after that

Agree about the Pact! N it was really dark as well which added to it..or my telly colour was off lol

Didn't find woman in black film scary the play however..Didn't like that

adrianabelshaw · 23/06/2016 10:43

The Conjuring definitely

HairyMoose · 23/06/2016 10:51

Toolbox Murders was hectically scary. It's about a wierd killer who lives within the walls of an apartment block.

The Conjuring
Texas Chainsaw - only the one with Jessica Biel though, in fact I had to give myself a couple of breaks during the movie to catch my breathe again.

HairyMoose · 23/06/2016 10:52

Oh yes and the first Wong Turn

laylabelle · 25/06/2016 17:40

Conjouring and conjouring 2 also..Though 2nd did have some daft moments the jumpy moments were horrible

shanhill · 29/06/2016 08:16

I was scared by the movie called 'Rosemary's Baby'. Sick and downright creepy. An old movie that still gives me the shivers!

rachel70j · 02/07/2016 09:54

I watched Paranormal Activity's trailer and shat my pants. I couldn't dare to watch the movie, so I think this is the scariest two mins of my life Grin

Janeymoo50 · 02/07/2016 19:39

A good scary film is one you can watch again and again and still be scared even if you know the ending.
My two are Halloween and Silence of the Lambs.

Bedsheets4knickers · 02/07/2016 19:41

Sinister was horrific , conjuring 2 is a must watch xx

jessica132 · 08/07/2016 16:10

nightmare on elm street, the movie itself is not that scary as much as the story.

user1468297055 · 12/07/2016 07:07

Ring!

dustarr73 · 23/07/2016 09:31

Wrong Turn
The Conjuring
Cabin In The Woods
Paranormal Activity.

I like a good horror not so keen on the gore.I find it hard to find a good horror film,it starts good but then get shite by the end.

midsomermurderess · 10/08/2016 19:15

Wolf Creek fair put the wind up me.

LadyFlumpalot · 10/08/2016 19:22

The Grudge as an adult, and The Woman In Black.

However, the thing that has stayed creeping me out the longest was an episode of Sapphire and Steele (Blush) where a faceless man could stalk and hurt you through photos you were in. Fecking creepy!

Longdistance · 10/08/2016 19:28

I used to love watching the Twilight Zone. Whatever happened to it.

So many good ones.

And what may be the Uk version, they tales of the unexpected?

Greydog · 10/08/2016 19:36

This is going to sound really lame, but I watched Tron:Legacy, which is not a horror film. And then I started thinking "What if ?" and imagining people being somehow sucked into the machine through computer games, and it has the potential to be a horrifying film!

Cellardoor23 · 15/08/2016 20:12

The conjuring. Especially when they look up at the warbrobe. Just thinking about it scares me!

Basically anything that involves people jumping out even though I know it's going to happen I still jump!

Gory films like Saw mainly because most of it is disgusting.

Gingefringe · 17/08/2016 07:16

I have only ever been able to watch The Blair Witch Project once - seriously scary and believable.

PatricianOfAnkhMorpork · 22/08/2016 17:55

Am I watching the same films as you lot as most of the ones you are mentioning I didn't find scary at all.

I'll definitely say the following as I've only ever watched them once and refuse to rewatch
The Shining
Salems Lot (TV movie)
Silence of the Lambs
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original version)

Favourites to freak out to
The Ring (US version)
The Hitcher (original version as I think they remade it)
Poltergeist (although not so scary these days)
Halloween

Most horror these days is either all gore or frankly boring. I need a good jumpfest to properly freak me out

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 22/08/2016 19:49

The original Omen - the scene with the dogs in the graveyard I still can't watch and I have seen the film loads of times.

LuckyBitches · 25/08/2016 10:00

The original 'The Vanishing' (Belgian I think). Very disturbing. Apparently the remake with Keifer Sutherland was shite, though.

Halloween also scares the crap out of me.

HelenJey · 26/08/2016 07:30

I guess it's "The ring"

MiaowJario · 26/08/2016 07:45

Wolf Creek. Still shudder. Ugh.

RubbishMantra · 03/09/2016 17:44

"Society" (1989) Not so much jump out of your seat, or blood and guts.) However the mullet hairstyles and side pony-tails are scary in themselves. Grin)

Perhaps a comment on the way the rich/entitled prey on the not so privileged?

It's an intriguing film, in spite of the sprinkling of 1980s cheese.

sarahgreeny · 06/09/2016 09:31

I watched one of the Saw films, I don't think I slept for 2 days and certainly am not watching any of the rest of the series Grin
