There is something really cathartic about a good, sad film.

Any recommendations?

Steel magnolias, when sally field runs and sweeps up her grandson Sad

Also - Life is Beautiful or Pan's Labrynth. I still feel a bit traumatised by that film.

TJEckleburg · 14/05/2016 23:08

Imitation of life. The funeral scene. I've sobbed at some of those previously mentioned, but never as much as I have at this.

Mummamayhem · 14/05/2016 23:08

The theory of everything. I don't cry at films. I sobbed all through this!

BieneBiene · 14/05/2016 23:10

I forgot about Armageddon. I don't even need to see the film. That Aerosmith song sets me off.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 14/05/2016 23:11

Most of the films that choke me up have already been mentioned but I recently watched 12 years a Slave, made me cry a few times.

KatieKaboom · 14/05/2016 23:26

Age of Adeline and city of angels have me sobbing all the way through.

CremeEggThief · 14/05/2016 23:50

Gosh, the only ones I've ever cried at are:
Dead Poet's Society
The Color Purple
Life is Beautiful
Up

CremeEggThief · 14/05/2016 23:51

Oh and Marley and Me.

MrsJayy · 14/05/2016 23:53

Tbh allthose early 80s true movies usually ended in ugly crying used to stay at my friends most saturdays and we would rent a weepyvideo

ILikeToClean · 14/05/2016 23:57

I pretty much cry at everything so all of those mentioned for me! However DD is tough as old boots but when we watched Marley & Me I've never seen such ugly crying - she was absolutely hysterical.

Mumberjack · 14/05/2016 23:58

Green Mile. Lots of bits but esp when he gets to watch Top Hat.

End of Toy Story 3: "I have to go away now..."

Even the tune from Up makes me feel wobbly.

Mumberjack · 14/05/2016 23:59

And I saw Marley and Me at the cinema. Silence until someone did a big sob then we all let it out.

DianaBlythe · 14/05/2016 23:59

The Constant Gardener
A Beautiful Mind
The Theory of Everything
