There is something really cathartic about a good, sad film.

Any recommendations?

And the good dinosaur got me!

Derry76 · 29/05/2016 20:43

The Impossible. I cry just thinking about it.

Ghost. I was dragged out of the cinema by my mother due to out of control embarrassing crying.

BrainSurgeon · 29/05/2016 20:47

I avoid sad films as much as possibly can. The last one I saw was The curious case of Benjamin Button. I was a complete mess at the end, proper wailing.

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 29/05/2016 22:23

Song for marion almost killed me. Especially the end when they sing

Lost it at the end of that tom hanks one where he's the captain of a ship and it gets highjacked. Cant remember the name of it though

alipia · 29/05/2016 22:29

The mighty. So sad!

Serenitymummy · 29/05/2016 23:37

Bloody Pixar. All the Pixar, can't get through one of their films without blubbing like a hormonal train wreck. And I NEVER cry at films as a rule. B*#%$rds!

Another vote for Hatchi...... I was an emotional wreck after that film, I had to go for a lie down!

The next day I was showing someone in work the trailer on my phone, and it started me off again! Blush

Another here for Never Let Me Go. Such a haunting film and the musical score is painfully good.

Hayels · 17/06/2016 23:20

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but I watched About Time tonight and sobbed!!
I also sobbed at Seven Pounds however was in a bit of a vulnerable place at the time and have never got round to rewatching it and seeing whether I was justified or not!

Hayels · 17/06/2016 23:27

Also embarrassingly welled up at the end of the Angry Birds movie last week Blush

I'm a regular crier. I watched first grown up film today in years - 12 years a slave. It was all so sad. Made worse by the fact it was true - I cried during and after. I still can't think of anything else.

Figgygal · 04/07/2016 21:10

Oh dear me I think I once cried so hard at Armageddon (I have daddy issues clearly) I fell over, I used to cry convulsively at titanic not at the Demise of Leo but because the whole thing is so sad and then when I went to see les miserables at cinema I dehydrated myself so much I had a headache and dh had to drive home from cinema

GertrudeSmellsDivine · 04/07/2016 21:16

Dumbo. When she rocks her baby through the bars and sings to him. Welling up even thinking about it.

Newbienew · 04/07/2016 22:42

Iusedtobecarmen · 04/07/2016 23:14

Jesus Christ,.i cry a little bit at everything but some things get you more. Some good(bad) reminders here.
Quite recently 13 years a slave. Hideous. Unbelieveably shocking and moving.
Without a doublt the most ive ever cried in one go was The Impossible. Unimaginable. As i have three boys made it all the more real.
The Green MIle
Schindlers list
ET. (Recently dc3 who is 6 watched and cried ++++too)
The Fault in our Stars
Who will love my children
Toy story 3
Ps i love you
Polar Express-when at the end it shows how you cant hear the sleigh bells when you have grown up. Kills me
Titanic-truly awful. Not only the story of rose and jack but mainly just the story itself. The real life footage at the beginning showing all those poor people setting off on a wonderful voyage gets me.
My list goes on

Iusedtobecarmen · 04/07/2016 23:14

Its a wonderful life too!!!

Iusedtobecarmen · 04/07/2016 23:17

12years a slave obviously,not 13

Iusedtobecarmen · 04/07/2016 23:26

I havent even watched Marley and Me. How ive escaped it i dont know. Im the biggest dog lover in the world.

SoleBizzz · 04/07/2016 23:30
