Really noddy? CS is bonkers in an oddly charismatic way. What's he like in RL?

expat, Jenny is so not from the block (dd can't stand her either since seeing a picture of her wearing real fur!!)

expatinscotland · 24/11/2006 11:25

JLo apparently was top diva at the TomKat wedding, too.

TheDivineLiliLaTigresse · 24/11/2006 11:27

what wonderful party that must have been

expatinscotland · 24/11/2006 11:36

The Metro had a HYSTERICAL blurb about it today.

zippitippitoes · 24/11/2006 11:45

why would you WANT to watch a pirate dvd? can you not wait until it comes out at Blockbusters? [genuinely puzzled emoticon]

I wouldn't buy them - the quality is rubbish and nowadays the prices of legit dvds has come down -if you buy on the day of release, all the retailers slash the prices so you can pick them up for about £10. Also no longer need to wait nearly a year for them to be released.

Azure · 24/11/2006 14:10

I work in the film industry (mainly on the distribution side) and completely agree with the OP. The majority of pirated DVDs that are available on or before the release dates are literally made by someone using a camcorder in the cinema - how on earth could that be worth watching? Most film reels now have a watermark not visible to the naked eye which can enable the source of the pirated film to be identified. Obviously the quality of the conterfeit DVD improves once there is a DVD available to copy.

Some people watch pirated dvd's because the real McCoy is way out of their price league. Few people in Nigeria can afford £10 a shot for a dvd, that might be their entire week's income. And tbh, I don't know where you'd buy a real dvd here, they are all copies, as far as I can tell. I'm certainly not saying it's right to buy fakes but it's understandable why some people do.

And no, we don't buy them. We stock-pile the genuine articles on our trips home.
