I have decided to institute a once weekly video night

cos I love tv and don't reckon my kids watch nearly enough

Am going to set me up with a LoveFilms or whatever account later today.

Right then, what films shall I bung on my list?

Criteria: films that wil appeal to ds who is 3 (don't get hung on on ds bit-big Angelina fan) and also his parents)

Please don't only reccomend Disney.

And say if there are any scary bits.

LOL must checkout TatMR asap!

Glad to hear pixar not disney filly, I was of that opinion too but not everyone agrees

we also enjoy

Peppa pig box set
Camberwick Green/Trumpton/Chigley box set
Mary, mungo and midge

obviously the DTs look at the v low tech MMM with shaky set and grainy pic and wonder what the hell is going on, but it makes me happy

at earlybird

wtf is camberwick green? And the rest? I know Clangers, Ivor, Bagpus and...someone else I think...thats it really.

(no telly as child...blah blah..)

FrannyandZooey · 12/11/2006 12:44

Oh inspired earlysbird! Filly Camberwick Green et al are simply fab, you must see them, hold on...

OK couldn't find much Camberwick Green but have found Chigley for you

they are all marvellous especially the superbly named Trumpton

LittleSarah · 12/11/2006 13:27

Looking at play.com and you can buy Shrek 1 and 2 and Madagasgar for £15 at the mo... very tempted!

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 12/11/2006 19:27

ah yes

in my all forgiving amazon basket

oh yes

ps TRUMPTON? ROFL at innocent days

FrannyandZooey · 12/11/2006 19:32

Ds often pays a visit to Trumpton

bless him, it's the quinoa

NotAnOtter · 12/11/2006 19:50

spirited away is my dream film - my 3 year old loves it but has much older siblings so that de sensitizes him

kiki delivery sevice is is not scary my daughter says suitable for an old 3 year old

my boy loves nanny mcphee (nanny hueeee) and willy wonka is one of his faves

aristocats is my one foray into disney

ballbaby · 12/11/2006 21:46

Can't read all this to see if anyone else has mentioned it but we really enjoyed ice age 2! Also Cars, Spirit (horsey film), and magic roundabout.

HowTheFillyjonkStoleChristmas · 13/11/2006 07:26

oh yes, what are cars & magic roundabout like? is there some sort of film on the latter?

ballbaby · 13/11/2006 13:12

Magic roundabout is one my kids enjoy but not me really - they love zebedee (hot and good) and zeebad (cold and evil). Not scary at all. Ds's both liked it - 3.5yrs and 15months.

I really enjoyed cars when we went to see it at the pics so ds1 is getting it for Christmas
