"V for Vendetta", when the public go over the barricades of soldiers.

"Plunkett and Macleane", where Macleane is being hanged and the horse gallops towards him creating a huge smoke screen diversion so that Plunkett can rescue him. The music to that scene gives me goosebumps too.

Much Ado About Nothing (Ken and Em version) in the chapel after Hero was left at the alter and Beatrice says, 'Oh that I were a man, I would eat his heart in the marketplace.'

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows pt 2 - in the forest with HP and his parents

BikeRunSki · 29/03/2015 17:54

In the James Dean film Giant, where they are sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner and the kids realise that they are eating their "pet" Turkey. "Pedro... Pedro...".

LoadsaBlusher · 29/03/2015 17:55

Officer & A Gentleman - When Mayo comes and carries her out of the factory floor to the 'Love lift us up ' song Swoon!

The Beach - The first full scene of the actual beach - paradise !

Scarface - The end scenes when he is sitting at his desk behind a pile of cocaine

Most Dirty Dancing scenes Grin with topless Swayzee

BikeRunSki · 29/03/2015 17:56

I also rather appreciate Daniel Craig's"Coming out of the sea in tiny swimwear" pastiche of Bo Derrk in ^The Quantum of Solace".

Another Harrison Ford moment. In Star Wars when Han Solo destroys the last of four TIE fighters doing battle with the Millennium Falcon. The expression on his face says it all but I shall put it into words:
'Got the bastard'. Grin

Wuthering Heights with Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier, Cathy's death bed scene…deep breath

'...And I pray one prayer, I repeat it till my tongue stiffens – Catherine Earnshaw, may you not rest as long as I am living; you said I killed you – haunt me, then… Be with me always – take any form, drive me mad. Only do not leave me in the darkness, where I cannot find you.

I cannot live without my life. I cannot live without my soul.'

weeps

Orlando, you've just reminded me that years ago I put The Glenn Miller Story on our Lovefilm list and we never got it - we've now been chucked off Lovefilm for being on too cheap a deal. I will see if I can find it, I love that film, especially those scenes. June Allyson massively underrated these days I find.

Though I blame her 'doing the ironing in the honeymoon hotel' and Debra Winger supposedly putting wild flowers in a jar for the breakfast table in Officer & Gentleman for many inappropriate acts of post-coital faux domesticity which it took me years to realise only ever make sense in patriarchal Hollywood movies, no real man has ever been other than mystified or put off by them.

When then dos are found in eight below and run towards Jerry.

Any of the flight scenes in top gun

HoldenCaulfield80 · 29/03/2015 20:08

I love that bit in The Money Pit where Tom Hanks pours the water in the bath and it falls through the ceiling.

Also, Dumber and Dumber - 'We got no food, we got no jobs, our pets' heads are falling off!'

bryonyelf · 29/03/2015 20:08

Oops when the dogs are found in eight below.

AGirlCalledBoB · 29/03/2015 20:12

Three Men and a Baby-when they get in the cab to follow Mary.

Dirty Dancing-the final dance

The Notebook- when they die in the bed together-the tears come rolling down.

Pretty woman-when she goes back into the store and shows them
right up.

moonshine · 29/03/2015 20:40

Edward Scissorhands when Winona Ryder says 'Hold me' and Johnny Depp, after looking at his hands says 'I can't'....and the scene at the end when she's twirling in the 'snow'.

Cabaret - the 'Tomorrow Belongs to Me' scene when 'sweet' boy turns into Nazi supporter - chilling.

Muriel's Wedding - the 'I don't want to be that girl, stupid, fat Muriel...' speech.

Marlon Brando in 'On the Waterfront' - the 'I could have been a contender..' speech.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/03/2015 21:06

zulu...the welsh guards think the thousands of zulus are preparing for yet another attack but they are saluting them as brave soldiers.

onemississippi · 29/03/2015 21:24

For me it's Meg Ryan's ordering of the apple pie

MadeMan · 29/03/2015 21:34

Notting Hill when Hugh Bonneville is none-the-wiser that major film star Anna Scott is at the party. Grin

BettyJudy · 29/03/2015 21:37

YY to the Emma thompson smoothing down the bed gathering herself. Gulp. My heart breaks every time

alseb · 29/03/2015 21:41

Again the final scene in the Bridges of Madison County. Various scenes in Out of Africa. Also, Falling in Love with Meryl Streep and Robert de Niro. I think Meryl Streep is superb. The "goodbye" scene in Terms of Endearment.

airedailleurs · 29/03/2015 21:52

railway children - "daddy my daddy"

as good as it gets - "you make me want to be a better man"

the green mile - "I'm tired boss" speech

SoleSource · 29/03/2015 22:35

So many of mine have already been mentioned.

Damage - the final scene

The Way We Were - the hospital scene up until the final credits.

Scandal - the final scene where Stephen Ward recites his suicide note.

LadyHarvey · 29/03/2015 22:55

In The Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy is saying goodbye to the scarecrow and says, 'I think I'll miss you most of all'. I cry every time.

Judy Garland's rendition of 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' in 'Meet Me In St. Louis'

Pretty much all of 'It's A Wonderful Life' ??

Giveme2minutes · 29/03/2015 22:58

Shirley Valentine: "I no try to make fuck with you" / "hello wall"

SoleSource · 29/03/2015 22:59
