nocoolnamesleft · 29/03/2015 05:59

Hello! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!

ButterflyUpSoHigh · 29/03/2015 08:43

Krays - snooker table scene with the dagger

Trainspotting - when he swims in the toilet

Billy Eliot - the end when his Dad is so proud of him

bofski14 · 29/03/2015 08:59

The Sound of Music - when the Captain joins in with "Edelweiss" and we realise he ISNT a robot after all.

The Way We Were - the final scene.

The Wizard of Oz - where the music swells and it first turns into colour

Look Who's Talking - when John Travolta dances into the kitchen.

Cinema Paradiso - the kisses

Magmatic80 · 29/03/2015 09:07

'Look, are you coming to fucking Paris or not?'
'Ahm... Not'
'No fucking room anyway'

And they're all grinning on the verge of tears 'cos they're so happy for her. Love that bitSmile

Magmatic80 · 29/03/2015 09:09

Oh and the bit in Grosse Point Blank where John cusack's shouting his big in love revalation to Minnie driver through the bathroom door, whilst killing all the baddies and she opens the door holding a big gun and says 'make this work'

Funny ones...

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - so many moments, but singing arias on a stiletto atop the tour bus, I love

Fargo - burying the suitcase of money......

Stardust - think it was Michelle Pfeiffer - when her boobs collapsed

Sad ones...

The Sound of Music - Edelweiss on the stage at the end

Mamma Mia - the hilarity of the party, burst bean bag, "Mureil, I can't feel my legs" (words to that effect)

Ghost - feeling his face

Scary ones....

Jason and the Argonauts - Medusa. Stuff of nightmares

Poltergeist - the voice in the television

dementedma · 29/03/2015 09:47

Sleeping with the Enemy - when she goes back into her house and sees that all the labels on the food tins have been lined up the same way. scream

BikeRunSki · 29/03/2015 10:10

Sorry to lower the tone, but that Waterpark scene in Inbetweeners 2.

Fauxlivia · 29/03/2015 10:19

Bridges of Madison County where she is in the car with her husband and sees him standing in the rain and her hand is on the door handle and you are willing her to get out of the car and she doesn't do it! She follows his car staring until it goes out of sight.

Starship Troopers where the boy joins the military and his commanding officer turns out to be his old high school teacher and they are among the few survivors of their city which was destroyed by the aliens.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/03/2015 10:20

first shark attack scene in Jaws so menacing

OP posts:
Dionysuss · 29/03/2015 11:33

Twilight films, I think it is Eclipse. After Jacob kisses Bella, him and Edward are squaring up to each other, and Cheif Swan breaks it up. Billy Burke is awesome in all the films.
Also in breaking dawn, the wedding speeches were funny. Especially Emmets ' I hope you've had enough sleep these past 17years Bella - you won't be getting anymore'.

NanTheWiser · 29/03/2015 12:36

In the original Thomas Crown affair, the chess scene with McQueen and Dunaway...

0ellenbrody0 · 29/03/2015 14:29

Definitely the Emma Thompson scene in Love Actually.
Beach scene in Jaws where the camera pulls back/forward on Brody's face.
USS Indianappolis scene in Jaws.
When Black Beauty is reunited with Joe (sob).
Every scene in Silence of the Lambs with Jodie foster in.
When the 'dead' body in Se7en takes a gasping breath. Aargh.

silveroldie2 · 29/03/2015 14:36

Truly, Madly, Deeply - You have sobbed your way through the film with Juliet Stephenson, then she starts playing the piano and Alan Rickman appears in solid ghost form behind her, accompanying her on cello - cue even more gutwrenching, heartfelt sobbing when she turns and sees him.

Railway Children - Daddy My Daddy - gulp

Roman Holiday - So many good bits, love when she puts her hand in the mouth. Apparently someone was hiding behind the head and grabbed her hand which she hadn't been warned about.

Harry Potter - anything with Dobby

ijustwanttobeme · 29/03/2015 14:46

Rhett Butler, with his hand on door handle, turns and says to Scarlett O'Hara,'frankly my dear I don't give a damn' .

'He's only a bairn'- Billy Elliott's dad having gone against what he believed in and retuned to work to get money for Billly. Gets me every single time.

SmartAlecMetalGit · 29/03/2015 14:46

So, so many in the original three Star Wars films; the first time Darth Vader appears, the trench run on the first Death Star during the Battle of Yavin, the betrayal on Cloud City, Luke and Vader fighting on Cloud City in ESB and on the second Death Star in ROTJ, Vader's change of heart (), the destruction of the Executor during the Battle of Endor ("Intensify forward fire power!"), the Millennium Falcon escaping the destruction of the second Death Star.

ijustwanttobeme · 29/03/2015 14:49

Titanic, when the older couple are cuddling up , and the mum is telling her children a story as they prepare for the inevitable

Brief encounter, when Celia Johnson's husband says, ' thank you for coming back' (or words to that effect).

GinAndSonic · 29/03/2015 15:01

The sex scene in Enemy at the Gate is really well done. The whole film is outstanding.

BikeRunSki · 29/03/2015 16:19

When Stephen Tompkinson hangs himself in Brassed Off.

The final few scenes of Brassed Off, at the Royal Albert Hall, when Pete Postlethwaite turns down the trophy (then the band grab it back ??).

AllThePrettySeahorses · 29/03/2015 16:20

The bit at the end of Jurassic Park when the T-Rex roars while all the banners fall down over it

The train ride in Spirited Away

The Forest Spirit stepping up onto the surface of the river in Princess Mononoke

The opening song in Beauty And The Beast

All of Frozen (also suffering from Stockholm Syndrome)

LottieMumofWilfJenkins · 29/03/2015 16:34

The one that i love is the chase scene with Ryan O Neal and Barbra Streisand in Whats Up Doc? They are riding an icecream bike and being chased by a stream of vehicles. In the middle of it all is a Chinese dragon and two men trying to cross a road with a sheet of glass. It is very funny.Grin
I am sure i will think of others!!

LottieMumofWilfJenkins · 29/03/2015 16:44

Just remembered more.............The picnic scene in To Catch A Thief when Grace Kelly offers the chicken to Cary Grant and asks "Breast or Leg?"
It was considered very risque in 1955!
The swimming pool dance scene with Frank and Grace in High Society.

windchime · 29/03/2015 16:49

The Railway Children -" Daddy, my Daddy" at the end.

OrlandoWoolf · 29/03/2015 17:07

Glen Miller - when he finds the sound and at the end when his wife listens to his last concert.

Top Gun - when Goose dies.

The Usual Suspects - the "you didn't see that coming "scene at the end.

Heat - when Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are in the diner. 2 of Hollywood's finest actors.
