Welcome to The Bluestocking, the best (perhaps only) online women's pub. Nothing in the food or drink can harm you, everything is served by a very enthusiastic crew of gerbils, who enjoy doing this, and any curious menfolk are welcome at the Staunch Ally down the road.

Yes ... I was remembering the voice of Granny saying "No shoes on the table!" and of course, that wasn't in the Bluestocking, and had nothing to do with Swashy. It was a knee-jerk reaction. Sorry everyone .. I will modify my knees next time Blush ... slinks away looking embarrassed ...

We must be spending a fortune on piano tuning. Unless one of the gerbils does it?

Gamut, I think.

Thinking about it, if there was something hidden in the crack it wouldn’t explain why Fenella didn’t want the crack reproduced.

I'm clueless, but agog.

My usual state really🤔

Likewise!

EdithStourton · 31/08/2026 18:45

Just a side note, but Pimm's-soaked raspberries are truly delectable. Full marks to DH for chucking them in.

Bargerbil, an entire glass of them, please.
That's one of my 5 a day.

Boiledbeetle · 31/08/2026 19:16

Oh for fucks sake.

I spent hours (OK minutes, lots of minutes) sorting out very tiny pieces of lego. I put the box with all the very tiny pieces carefully sorted out in to lots of separate piles on the seat thingy whilst I went to find my box of little tubs.

Look what I returned to...

The sound of tiny pieces of lego hitting the floor when he finally decided to move nearly made me cry.

Oh Boily. And I bet he’s not even sorry.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 31/08/2026 19:27

Ohhh nooooooo! Bastard cat.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/08/2026 19:31

I’m sure Boily knows this unfortunate incident was no one’s fault but her own. Which obviously makes it all the more galling and requiring consolatory Tunnocks.

I was also in love with Michael York and Richard Chamberlain. Michael played gay and bisexual characters, and Richard was gay. I see a theme....

Gosie will soon be here.

To say I was gutted when I discovered that Father de Bricassart was gay would be understating my dismay somewhat.

EmpressaurusKitty · 31/08/2026 17:48

Of course!

I bet Gubbins would like a One Gerbil Band kit for her birthday.

Don't anybody dare!!

Oh Boily. And I bet he’s not even sorry.

When I asked him what he thought he was playing at he gave a solitary pathetic "who me?" meow. Then refused to move until he'd shuffled his bum enough to pick up as many tiny pieces as his rear end fluff could manage.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 31/08/2026 19:27

Ohhh nooooooo! Bastard cat.

He's currently sulking in the high cupboard and hissed at me as I walked past.

EmpressaurusKitty · 31/08/2026 20:02

Is he still carrying tiny pieces of Lego on his bum?

I know! Annoyingly I actually moved it from where I originally placed it as I figured the cat might be tempted so I moved it to the other side of the room.

He was asleep when I left the room. About 60 seconds later he was awake and had teleported to on top of the Lego.

I may have had a Caramel water or two to console myself.

More than likely.

You don’t want the British Museum, @AngleofRepose, you want Sir John Soane’s House in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. It’s got an Egyptian sarcophagus & it’s FAR more fun.

Thank you for the handy tip! I've never heard of it before, and it looks very interesting Star

Probably the most important thing to know is that because it’s very cluttered, they insist on everyone putting whatever they’re carrying into a plastic bag - if you can’t fit everything in the bag they don’t let you in, and there’s no cloakroom.

I just looked on Wiki.
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Special
Richard Chamberlain
Nominated

Did not win!
He was robbed.

Except Tommy Lee Jones was exceptional as Gary Gilmore in The Executioner's Song which was an exceptional film TV show. Just a difficult year to be nominated for the The Thornbirds.

Of course he was! He was doing that pretending to be sleeping thing and waited to pounce the moment you left the room.

I’m listening to Sylvester, by Georgette Heyer, & it’s just introduced me to the word Betwattled. 😍

(Not Bet-wattled, Be-twattled).
