Laurence Fox charged with sexual offence after ‘sharing upskirting photo' on social media

"The charge follows the release of the image on social media platform X, with the 46-year-old star first accused of re-posting the image on his X account in April 2024.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Fox has now been charged under Section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The incident saw Fox accused of sharing the compromising photo of TV star Narinder Kaur on social media.
The law makes it a crime to intentionally share sexual images of someone without their consent, with the intention of causing "alarm, distress, humiliation, or for sexual gratification".
He is now due to appear at Westminster Magistrate's Court on April 24.
If convicted, Fox faces up to two years in prison, with the risk of being placed on the Sex Offenders Register."

Sadly I see he is in complete denial he has done anything wrong and a number of people defending him on Twitter. The excuses given are "lots of people shared it" and "why don't the police arrest the person who originally took it instead". Any opinions?

Lozza has a political party, name escapes me, and he's paid 250k pa by Frank Hester. He's an actor, it's a role. A role that he fits very well. Google him if you want more detail.

There's also the fact he comes from a very rich family. I don't think he'll ever struggle for money.

His party is called the Reclaim Party but I don’t think it’s funded by Frank Hester. A few years ago they were solely funded by Jeremy Hosking - a man who loved the idea of a no deal Brexit he tried to form a party called ‘Brexit Express’.

They are both vile human beings but I don’t care if she did share the pic herself at some point (if she did it was her choice and was probably to deflect/detract from someone earning money or noteriety upon sharing it), there is no justification for him posting it. Even if she shared it first, even if she was vile to his friend, even if she insinuated things about him, there is no justification he can make. I hope the charges stick.

Is this a new law? I swear over the years I have seen many photos of people, many likely celebs, with their undies showing in one form or another as it seems to be a paparazzi's aim to find such photos. Or at least used to be, because according to this, it would now be illegal.

Yes, indeed. I find him absolutely repugnant and pathetic. However, what worries me is that he's seen as some sort of anti-woke hero to millions of people. Many people thinks he speaks the truth when he actually spreads blatant lies and misinformation. I actually think he's quite dangerous because he's stirring up hatred towards minority groups like Muslims. He's not a figure who can be dismissed because he poses a real threat.

I really do think there are many, many people who share his views which I find worrying. For example a government survey said that a third of the population supported the racist protests that took place last summer.

I think it started when he went on Question Time and he responded angrily to a woman who called him a privileged white man. He got a huge amount of attention from that and people praising him for fighting back against "woke" ideology. He seemed to thrive under all the attention and became some anti-woke warrior. I've watched him become more and more extreme. He now says the most vile and hateful things against minorities. He has quite a large following of people cheering him on.
