Hope it goes well, Cher.
Is it just me thinking 'bodywork repair' sounds like panel beating and a respray? ConfusedGrin

Tee hee! It's more a matter of replacing clapped out components in order to keep the old jalopy on the road.

Though a respray might be an idea, later on. Fake tan, eyebrow and eyelash dye, highlights. A wig. A series of wigs, like the actual Cher!

I'll be unrecognisable!

😬 forgot to do a snow quokka.

We've just finished a snow hedgehog! Used icicles for the spikes. Colin was very pleased with the snow dachshund. Very pleased. It's the yellow one.

We're using the tortoise shells as sledges, they go bloody fast. Which, thinking about it, is not what you'd expect from tortoises.

Tribbles make excellent handwarmers. Twenty minutes in a hot oven, they really hold the heat. It also stops them multiplying in your pockets and they make a nice hot snack.

@Chersfrozenface good news. Definitely rebuy, it's the only guaranteed way to then find the original stuff.

Ohh the hedgehog is fantastic. Glad to see you got a photo of the daschund before Colin expressed his deep pleasure of it!

They get everywhere! Did they enjoy the pottery session?

They bloody loved it. They didn't get off the wheel, just round and round and round. And so much mud everywhere.

But I see they did attempt to actually make something!

Yes we found out they all needed to cut and file their nails down before we could make a start. Such drama llamas.

inkymoose · 08/01/2025 16:24

More frolics in the snow depicted by a very reluctant AI that took a lot of prodding to get even half of the things I asked for. Got plenty of things I didn't ask for including a snow elephant!

Right! We've made a snow quokka, snow dragon, snow moose, snow donut and snow android. Cher and Marie, the capybara are using their carving skills to make ice sculptures of you by the pond. I think that's everyone 🤔

Bugger! <scurries off to make a snow puffling>

Btw, I think some of the gerbils are using tribbles to bulk up their balls*. They seem to have more heft to them.

And get down off the roof before there's an accident!

*snow

lcakethereforeIam · 08/01/2025 16:37

Feck! And a snow blackbird...somehow.

Doesn't Colin look adorable? The filthy wee (interpret that however you wish) monster.

Chersfrozenface · 08/01/2025 16:41

Ooh, an ice sculpture of me! That's really classy! And, of course, totally apposite.

Magpiecomplex · 08/01/2025 17:20

No snow magpie? Oh... 😢

Need to wait till some of the snow has got grimy.

lcakethereforeIam · 08/01/2025 17:29

Sorry, I knew I'd forget someone.

Gerbils, put the hot chocolate down, we've got one two more to do. Saved the best until last <struggles back into coat, mutters> can't believe I forgot magpie and beetle.

Ahem....
I was forgotten, remembered, forgotten again. Are you sure you're OK?

lcakethereforeIam · 08/01/2025 18:01

No, we made the puffling. Looks beautiful, although rather leucistic. Snow being the lack of colour it is. The gerbils found some berries to colour the beak. Colin offered to help with yellow but we distracted him with a Frisbee.

The blackbird turned out well. Dusted that one with soot from the fireplace.

We've put a string of those tiny fairy lights in the magpie's tail, to look like the iridescent they have. It's a nice effect.

Beetle we had to do twice. First time, while my back was turned, the gerbils just heaped snow over a sleeping capybara. Who woke up, and got up just as I thought we'd finished! The finished article does look lovely though.

FuzzyPuffling · 08/01/2025 14:29

Good luck Cher. Hope all goes swimmingly well. And that you get Quokkas rather than Gerbils as your primary carers, judging by the earlier paramedics.

I dunno..... I'm a bit concerned that the Quokka paramedics' version of 'transferring the patient into the ambulance' looks like -
'Right mate, no messing about with stretchers - on the count of three - heave ho, and in she goes....oh wait, there's some nosey bastard taking a photo, let's wait till they've gone'😁

ifIwerenotanandroid · 08/01/2025 18:19

I let some art students in to make snow figures because the Bluestocking has (naturally) the best snow around. Marie & DrB & I modelled for them. They went a bit over the top, but their hearts were in the right places: I checked, sorry for the blood on the snow next to the bothy.

Boiledbeetle · 08/01/2025 18:41

I have to say I'm rather impressed with the gerbils snow version of me. They are such wonderful little workers aren't they!

I think I need a name change to an animal so I can have hilarious beautiful AI images too.

[Note to Beetle from Pedantry Corner -

dependant is a noun indictating one who is dependent: Sarah was Alice's dependant.
dependent is an adjective: Sarah was dependent on Alice because she was a baby.

Pedantic point ends]

In my defence I got kicked out of my English GCSEs before the exams!
