Kamala Harris

Biden has endorsed Harris to run for president. I don't believe she's very popular but it would be amazing to have a female president.

The only way the USA is getting a female president in 2025 is if Trump transitions.

Kamala is a terrible person and hypocrite. As Tulsi Gabbard remarked at the Primaries in 2020, Kamala joked about how she smoked pot in college whilst illegally extending the sentences of people imprisoned for it in California.

As to her being a role-model for being female, she's terrible for that as well. Take someone like Tulsi Gabbard - now SHE is inspiring. To the point that numerous Trump supporters genuinely suggested that he should offer her the VP ticket and run a bipartisan election. Even Hillary Clinton is at least admirable in the female role-model sense of being a woman who climbed to the top on her own strengths (climbed over a lot of dead bodies, but climb she did). Kamala Harris was a P.Diddy groupie who had an affair with the guy who got her her position and has never faced public election. Is that really the message that should be sent to young women - career advancement through sexual exploits and backroom handshakes? Even her getting the Democrat nomination is very dubious as by rights this should be something that is voted on by membership. It's pretty questionable if the delegates actually have the right to just hand her the nomination. It's the Right that tends to throw up the strong female leaders - Thatcher, Alice Weidel, Marine Le Penn...

The Right are going to have a field day with Kamala Harris:

The claim that Harris was a "P Diddy groupie" is a lie, plain and simple, that has been invented and pushed by MAGA types (and seemingly they've tried to "evidence" it by posting images or videos of Harris with her once-boyfriend, Montel Williams).

Harris was elected to District Attorney (then re-elected), then Attorney General (then re-elected), then Senator in California. But yes, other than those 5 times she successfully ran for office, she has never faced a public election.

Sad to see such vile, sexist lies being peddled.

@Fruityful "The Right are going to have a field day with Kamala Harris"

When are they going to start?

ThatMauveSnake · 28/07/2024 21:28

I see polling today showing Kamala going from a -11% net favorability to an even split. Trump’s have dropped again, post-assassination attempt, back down to -16%.

I can’t imagine lies about Kamala’s sex life and career are the vote winners the right seems to think they’ll be, but I’m very happy for them to try it out.

Newsenmum · 28/07/2024 21:53

WildLemur · 27/07/2024 03:35

I find it more disturbing that Donald Trump doesn't ever laugh. He's obviously able to recognize humor, and he does smirk, but he never ever laughs. It's one of his various traits that are consistent with psychopathy.

Omg you’re right. Thats seriously creepy.

cupcaske123 · 28/07/2024 21:58

Good news. Harris has raised 200 million and is steaming ahead in the polls.

Kamala Harris has virtually erased Donald Trump’s six-point lead according to a new poll.

The battle for the White House is now effectively tied as Trump’s six-point lead over Joe Biden was squashed to just two points after Harris took his place as election frontrunner for the Democrats, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Is she a criminal?
Does she have a history of sexual assault?
Does she have a history of any type of assault?
Has she ever asked election officials to "find" votes for her?
Has she ever called for violence when a vote hadn't gone her way?

No?

That's enough to make her better than Trump.

She's very unpopular in the polls although she polls well with people of colour and younger voters. Biden gave her a couple of projects as VP that she hasn't really been very successful at. She has quite a low profile and is trusted on abortion but not the big hitters like immigration and foreign policy. There has also been some ridicule of her such as her awkward laughter.

Yeah, she was appointed Border Czar and 10 plus Million no papers Aliens wondered in here and terrorists as well!

HeddaGarbled · 31/07/2024 20:13

Nope

WildLemur · 31/07/2024 20:21

I do wonder if it even matters if Kamala wins the election, seems like the Republicans might have sufficiently rigged the system to install Trump as president anyway.

I'm eager to see a debate between Trump and Harris. I think it could be pretty decisive if she performed well in the eyes of the all important swing voters.

I'm dismayed by how much of the commentary about her is focused on her sex, race and religion (and her husband being Jewish) and on whether she's sufficiently competent. As always, people are applying a higher standard to her than is applied to men. Of course she is competent enough! The sitting president can't even read an autocue. I suspect he probably wears nappies as he's so frail and clearly is so non compos mentis that he ought to be removed immediately.

Trump has refused to debate her, hasn't he? His excuse is that everyone knows his views already. Didn't stop him debating Biden. Kamala would wipe the floor with him.

petermaddog · 31/07/2024 21:10

trump didnt debate he just brayed like he always does

CaveMum · 31/07/2024 21:51

I’d love for Trump to refuse to debate Kamala. They simply go ahead with the debate format with an empty podium for Trump and allow Kamala to answer questions uninterrupted on live tv for an hour or so.

Trump antagonised senior Black journalists and questioned Harris’s race, saying, “She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black.”

Happened to turn black. He's unbelievable.

The Right are going to have a field day with Kamala Harris:

For the left this would not matter they will push her at all costs as it is the option now as they inherited her from their decisions in 2020. They want to take the electorate for fools every time. The very same people who inflicted Biden on America and the world. Same people who only want to push for first time ticks ✅ rather than viable candidates.

If Trump gets in there'll be nothing more to worry about since he keeps saying that no one will have to vote again.

This is the second time he's said it. When challenged he blustered about Christians not voting. Yet a few months ago he talked of being a dictator on day one, he's a fan of Putin, Orban and Kim Jong un and he instigated an insurrection when he was voted out.
