Emerging French rape case.

Was listening to womens hour about that emerging French rape case. Words just fail me. I've not felt such visceral anger for a while. I just hope that victim has a massive protective shield around her.

Yes I read that story today and my jaw dropped. The worst has to be she loved and trusted this man and no reason to be suspicious. Thank goodness the police investigate his ‘minor’ crime to reveal the true horror. The poor woman, how would you ever trust anyone again.

I read about this too. You think you've heard the worst but it seems the bottom of the barrel has still not been reached. That poor poor woman. I just wonder what else he put her through. I hope she has good people around her now.

Just read that Telegraph piece. I feel physically sick. That poor poor woman. I can't even begin to imagine the depravity and sense of entitlement that this man, and all his "customers" have.

And people can say that it's any number of things but at the end of the day, you don't treat another person like this unless you truly believe that she is "lesser".

A senior police chap tried to tell me once that some rapes were worse than others. We weren't somewhere I could give him both barrels, but to be betrayed by your husband, in the safety of yr own home- that must undermine every element of your life.

Words just absolutely fail me. I find it hard to imagine one vile person going through with this let alone 80.

I'm amazed it worked too. You know when you've had sex. If his wife was waking in the morning feeling like that, but knowing she hadn't had sex with her husband, how did he explain that?

And how much did he drug her so she couldn't remember any of it? Amazing he didn't kill her. The poor woman.

It's shocking that so many men were happy to go along with this and rape a drugged woman.

The French police are crap with rape cases, as, unfortunately, I know from an extremely unoleasznt experience. I was limping due to the force used, but in their book it was consual sex.

It's so unthinkable though. If I woke like that, I'd assume we'd had sex while I was sleepy, and assume I was in a consensual relationship.
Or I'd assume it was just how my body worked, as obviously I hadn't had sex. I might put it down to hormones or something. Might even wonder if I had thrush. That my husband had pumped me out over night wouldn't have crossed my mind.

I mean, waking up groggy must become your new normal. Horrendous.

The more I read about the lengths some men are going to satisfy their perverse urges, the more I want to stay far far away from them.

I left my emotionally abusive ex a couple of years ago. A favourite of his was to start having sex with me while I was sleeping, around 2am, 3am, waking me up in the process. I really disliked it, and told him so. I'm not sure if it's linked, but he attended a boarding school as a child and he really enjoyed this kind of sex, so continued doing what he wanted until I started sleeping in another room.

I can't imagine what this poor lady must be going through, that her husband of 50 years did this to her. Absolutely disgusting.

The poor woman…she must be in her 70’s at least. Apparently she had no idea and vomited when she saw the photos.
There are another 30 or 40 men that haven’t been charged yet too.

It's one of the most horrific stories I've ever read.

I cannot get my head around it that there are people who think and do things like that and that there were 83 other fuckers who participated.

If ever there was a call for bringing back the death penalty. People like this add no value, they are a danger to society, they are on camera so there is no doubt about their guilty.

That poor woman, I can't even imagine what she is dealing with.

The depravity of some in the world astounds me.

Apparently there were 90 cases of rape over those years. Some men coming back multiple times. It’s not even a case of what the husband did. This sick bunch of what is close to necrophiles, happily raped an unconscious woman while her husband watched.

The depravity just makes you unable to see men the same I’m afraid. The older I get the more I see and learn the more I foresee my future as resolutely single.

It takes a lot to shock me as I work in this area but this has really upset me to read. I feel so angry that not just one man , her husband thought this was acceptable but so did at least 50 more. That poor poor woman.

WTAF. If rape in itself isn't bad enough, the frequency, the premeditation, the cold-bloodedness, the fact that it was his own wife...words fail me.
