Emerging French rape case.

Was listening to womens hour about that emerging French rape case. Words just fail me. I've not felt such visceral anger for a while. I just hope that victim has a massive protective shield around her.

This man is also implicated in the rape of two other women and the murder of one .
The level of depravity is unfathomable to a normal mind .
Can you really trust anyone these days . Imagine finding out your spouse has a whole other life of evil .

When you look at the numbers, the professions represented, and then try and remind yourself NAMALT...

exactly. And the thing is even if it's not ALL men
a) in this case it's the husband, the 80odd other rapers and the other (hundreds/thousands?) if the footage was uploaded to websites who got off on watching it...so a fucking lot of men
b) I can't imagine there has ever been an incident where 80plus women raped a man in his 70s, organised by his wife...so even if it's not all men, it is ALWAYS men

IsThereAnEchoInHere · 22/06/2023 20:49

Absolutely horrible!
What can you even say!

And to think that all/most of those men are probably what people in their lives considered ’good one’s’.
That’s the thing isin’t?
You never know. Until you do.
Scary!

I wish that husband and those other men a very slow, painful death.

dcbc1234 · 22/06/2023 21:00

I read it in the Telegraph yesterday. Never known anything like this before, it really shocked me along with all the murders of women in the prison in Honduras.

pickledandpuzzled · 22/06/2023 21:02

Imagine living with a man for 50 years and discovering he's this kind of sadist.

The French police are crap with rape cases, as, unfortunately, I know from an extremely unoleasznt experience. I was limping due to the force used, but in their book it was consual sex.

I'm so sorry. Sad Awful. I hope you're ok. Flowers

Apparently there were 90 cases of rape over those years. Some men coming back multiple times. It’s not even a case of what the husband did. This sick bunch of what is close to necrophiles, happily raped an unconscious woman while her husband watched.

The depravity just makes you unable to see men the same I’m afraid. The older I get the more I see and learn the more I foresee my future as resolutely single.

I feel the same. It's the fact so many other men were involved that really puts the nail in the coffin of having a basic level of trust in (probable) male decency. It's not just "be careful because there's the odd creep or predator out there", is it? This is SO many men willing to rape, dehumanise and even obvious the risk of eventually being caught isn't enough to stop them? I'm wondering if it was some kind of dark web thing? I can't cope with the thought that statistically there could be this many monsters just round the corner, only waiting for the opportunity to act out some sick fantasy.

Sorry - this sounds very me-focused and I can't even imagine the horror this woman is going through. It's just - how to even relate to half the human race, with the exception of a few close family members?

pushnpull · 22/06/2023 22:10

Just the most awful, truly repugnant things I have read, and yet was still shocked to read: "One, denying rape, reportedly said: 'It's his wife, he does what he likes with her.'"

That poor poor woman. How does one even get over such a betrayal of trust, let alone what has happened to her.

SaturdayGiraffe · 22/06/2023 22:31

So a rape website is ok for internet providers to host?

Gothambutnotahamster · 22/06/2023 22:52

This is truly appalling. That poor woman.

Rainbowshit · 22/06/2023 22:55

This is beyond horrific. That poor poor woman.

WomenShouldStillWinWomensSports · 22/06/2023 22:56

I saw this earlier today and I've spent most of the day not able to put it out of my mind. The betrayal. Treating her like an object. And all those men who went along with it. But what got me most was the man who, when questioned about the fact he raped her, said something like, "she's his wife, he can do what he wants with her."
And just like Fred West he got caught for something completely unrelated and now it's all coming to light. How many of them are there out there who haven't been caught? Who never will?

Rainbowshit · 22/06/2023 22:59

How could he claim she was the love of his life and do that to her. I feel absolutely sick and furious that she was out through that.

51 charged and more to follow. Jesus.

MCOut · 22/06/2023 23:53

There is no punishment in this earth, severe enough for that man. All of them are evil and the worse part is even if they’re convicted it will not be long enough and they’ll be out to terrorise women once more.

That poor woman. It will take a miracle to rebuild from this.

CovetedAsFuck · 23/06/2023 00:06

I don’t think I can click on that again but I only skimmed and now I’m like, did I imagine it or did it say they have children? (Who would now be adults obviously)

The entire thing is so shocking. Another level of horror from the everyday background of male abuses we are so used to seeing in the news.

How will she ever recover? How could you?

NotMeekNotObedient · 23/06/2023 00:08

That poor women.

But it's always men ☹️

DivorcingEU · 23/06/2023 05:05

I've not been able to get this out of my head either.

At the base of it is the ability of those involved to dehumanise women and children. While this crime is past the point of extreme, the dehumanisation involved is a thread running through many crimes and ill-treatment committed by men against women, including those that are never reported.

In all types of domestic abuse it's present, all random acts of violence committed by male strangers on women, and all CSA. And it's ramped up when there's a war and women and children generally aren't expected (or wanted) on the battlefield of either side, because they're "weaker" or more vulnerable in some way, yet they're also always the targets of extreme sexual violence.

This husband did what he did because he could get away with it. He also filmed female relatives naked. NOT ONE of the many thousands (I suspect) of men who watched any of these videos thought of going to the police. Of course they wouldn't necessarily know where she/they were but they still could have reported a crime. Interpol/Europol could have got involved to locate the country etc (I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been hard to recognise that it's happening in France rather than Norway or Cambodia due to clothing and furnishings). The viewers could have tried. Instead they fapped away to an unconscious woman being raped. How disconnected to humanity do you have to be to do that?

What the husband did was sadistically depraved. What the fappers did was a different type of sadistically depraved. And the webhosts of these videos should be prosecuted too.

53andABitPodgy · 22/06/2023 20:55

I wish that husband and those other men a very slow, painful death.

I wish them that, but without the certainty of death.

The woman thought she'd been having dreams of being raped over the years. She wasn't fully unconscious.

Melroses · 23/06/2023 13:11

Poor, poor woman - and over 50 years married to him :(

Quite.
There are lots of initiatives to detect, shut down and prosecute Illegal movie streaming, football matches etc. But websites showing the abuse of women are fine. Because "all men watch porn" and policing the Internet is "too hard".

It makes me sick that men are facilitated by the internet to abuse women like this and share it to encourage others.

Gothambutnotahamster · 23/06/2023 14:25

Couldn't agree more @AdamRyan

Ageingweightlifter · 23/06/2023 19:11

it's not in the news. I really don't know if this is a good thing or not.
