Do you think porn is going to get even more violent and men’s demand for so called ’kinky’ sex even stronger when hopefully women are getting braver to stay single?

Didn’t get any answer on the other board, so I’ll try here.

While women started to get more educated, be more at the work force and having little bit more say in who and when or if they date, porn was pushed more and more to the mainstream and violent sex with that.

There has to be a correlation.

And now there has been quite a few articles and studies of women choosing to remain single (they don’t usually say, but I’m guessing some women at least are also opting out of having sex with men) and single and childfree women being happiest demographic.

Do you think that sexual behaviour, weather it’s porn / men using prostitutes / so called kinky community or ’sex positivity’ movement that is constantly eroding women’s boundaries, will get even more violent and degrading towards women?

How could it get more violent? You can get literally anything now.

I married someone younger than me and he spoke openly about how easy access to porn caused him to have serious psychosexual issues. I suffered at the hand of these in a relationship feeling inadequate and like something was wrong with me because of what he wanted to do and the fact I have no desire to do even the smallest thing.

He wanted to spit on me, would call me names, strangle, hit. It's put me off men for life. He watched porn from childhood alone in his room.

A more everyday societal pressure is leg hair removal for women. We all know rationally that we don't have to shave/wax/etc and yet almost every woman removes her leg hair to wear a skirt. We can easily analyse why women remove leg hair whilst men happily roam around in shorts with legs as hairy as a grizzly bear. If preferences around leg hair removal can be influenced by societal pressures, preferences around sex certainly can.

Pornography should be generally banned. You should have to apply to be able to see it and effectively need a licence, which verifies your age and identity and device before you are given access through that device.
It won’t stop the illegal stuff but it will make it a whole lot harder for little boys and girls to look at pornhub.
Do you think any little girl looks at the shit on there and thinks.. gosh yes, I’d like to do that.. it must be terrifying!

They already had this technology when I was at school. I think part of the issue is that nobody wants to give identifying details (to prove age) unless the have to, considering the nature of the content.

I don't understand that objection. Gambling is morally questionable too, yet online casinos have to verify the age of the user and no one complains about this. I've had to show my driving licence with name and address on it to buy alcohol, but I'm not griping about privacy.

No one forces you to watch porn, gamble, or buy alcohol. We accept a loss of privacy doing the second two as the price of stopping kids from doing them. What's so special about the first?

It's not about being morally questionable. It's much more embarrassing for your colleagues to find out you're a porn afficionado than a gambler. I remember a scam where a company would take a small amount from an account and leave an embarrassing reference which people would be less inclined to want to report.

Short of a data breach, your colleagues won't find out. Sure, PornHub can be breached, but so can Lovehoney and Bet365.

I'd not be hugely happy if my colleagues found out that I'd bought a Hitachi wand and two glass dildos, but I had to give my name and address for those to be delivered to me. No one forced me to order sex toys, I chose to take that risk. No one forces anyone to watch porn, if age verification was brought in, it would be up to the would-be watcher to assess that risk.
